Large swathes of the forum ARE closed to the public already, without an account you cannot see the troon general thread among others.

Black culture thread and constructive critic thread (the one with the bitching and where hidden rules are announced) is even closed to junies.

The ideal situation would be to make the whole forum invisible and member-only, and not allow any of the members to access any other online systems, ever.

Yes, but they only make money from like, ads and donations. You COULD run a forum off of donations if the goal was just to have a small place where regulars talk, but thats not the goal of Resetera, which is to milk as much money from ads from non posters as possible. They have not realized that the retard troons and seething negros aren't the actual draw for the owners, its people from off site searching google for stuff about zelda or wukong or whatever and being served up resetera threads to read.

If the owners closed all the nonsense topics about trannies and black pride they would probably actually have more appeal and make more money, but its too far gone at this point. Its why they CAN private those topics, theyre actually the least important ones no one cares about except for us to make fun of them with

Honestly, they could easily run all those incessant datamining threads through an AI that converts them to excel sheets and run those through Julius or something.
Hell if anyone in the staff had an over 80 IQ they could build an n8n workflow and have the forum crank out "market analytics" for resale with every retarded hyperconsoom thread Entremet makes.

It's closer to 50% according to a mod's slip of the tongue about 6-8 months ago. But yeah their staff is wiping out every sign of a growing userbase. Realistically i could see dubs pull a lowtax and lock the forum for non-paypigs (hopefully before pulling another lowtax-classic).

The ideal situation would be for the users to think it's invisible and members only and that no one can see what they post, but in reality it's fully viewable to anyone.

That last part is the important part, and why it's impossible. You'd think having a place where all the trannies can congregate and bitch and moan and be totally -ist and -ism free and epic safespace etc would be their ultimate goal and the most exciting prospect. But if they had that they would immediately have to go infect someplace else, and grow the infestation anew. It's a bizarre phenomenon. Long story short: Some guy has spent thousands of dollars and untold personal hours to make a Star Wars game using the Starfield engine. The project is free and not-for-profit.

So naturally, a bunch of idiots who create nothing and have invested nothing have shown up to scold him for using AI to generate NPC voice acting. According to them, he should either exclude voice-acting altogether OR find voice actors who will work for free.

The game's creator actually shows up to explain how AI voicing makes the job more streamlined, but it doesn't really stop the whining. I would feel sorry for the guy, but that's kinda what you get for trying to talk to these lunatics like they are reasonable adults. and not children who shit their diapers the moment they hear the word "A.I."

I honestly can't imagine the nerve it takes to harangue someone over this, especially when they're basically already going into debt on the project. The dude working on this ought to just start a Voice Acting GoFundMe and invite all these principled individuals to actual contribute something beyond complaints.
 
It makes me very happy that so many people on Resetera are so upset about AI to the point of utter disgust and madness.

The genie is out of the bottle now, and you can't put it back in. AI will be part of every aspect of our lives sooner than later, and pretty much every single video game is going to use it in some aspect. It might be the code, art, some textures, copy, voice acting, sound effects, or entire characters, but its a miraculous tool that will never be ignored after 2025. Its already used in a minor role at my IRL job too.

If these people are so mad that a free, massive mod of a shitty bethesda game uses AI to make voices, theyre going to literally killing themselves when it turns out the next real bethesda game uses AI voice acting for every minor character.

Requiring a modder that is releasing a free mod made on his own time to essentially match the voiced content in a AAA game that was in production for 8 years in order to pass the "goodness" test, is a whole new level of virtue signaling. Like, this is crazy, even for Era.

These are not jobs that could have realistically existed, unlike when an actual studio with lots of resources decides to use generated voices.
