I first tried looking up the thread by viewing that user's account activity, but you can only do that with an account, and nothing jumped out on the front page of the gaming forum. I don't want you to be my butler, but it would have taken you zero extra effort to include a link to the thread with your vaguepost.

Kinda flies in the face of the Nintenyearolds who insist Nintendo is a magical company that makes nothing but masterpieces in less time and for lower budgets than anyone else, doesn't it?
I don't think everything they make is a masterpiece but I rather like their usual commitment to low project scope and taking risks on projects that might not turn out. Just last year we got a Famicom Tantei Club 3 for ex, and there are plenty of other cool smaller games they've put out in the last decade that don't need mass appeal.

Metroid just seems cursed.

There's been a several occasions of that this year. From the Switch 2 screen drama, some people daring to not like the new Donkey Kong, Metroid Prime 4 previews, and other random Nintendo things, when it comes to actual video game sperging on that site Nintendo fans are simply the worst.
I thought ResetEra was the Sony shilling site since Sony is considered the woke company (Not that the others aren't but Sony definitely has that reputation with the games they put out and their marketing) and that was carried over from Neogaf.

A board admin on Reeee was actually in the Xbox ambassador program, a paid shill, and actively nuked users who didn't buy into the ridiculous narrative that MS was "consumer-friendly" and Game Pass was the best thing to ever happen to gamers, or who opposed Microsoft's efforts to buy every publisher and developer they could to starve every other platform holder out of business.

I know that the users at resetera never attended public or private school but Jesus. Where I am from, a 4 means to did the bare minimum and passed. Not bad or good, just acceptable.
It meant you outright failed here, only a 5.5 was "you passed on a technicality or by sheer luck, consider this a warning".
Tendies have been doing this everywhere however.

I was also interested in the threads, so had a Google for them.

As an aside, I recently finished MP4 and it does take a massive nosedive towards the end. Clearly rushed out the door.

Not to be a BOTH SIDES guy, but I find that the current meta of shit talking Nintendo on social media or Youtube or whatever is equally as annoying as fanboys. Somewhere along the way it became damn near impossible to have an actual conversation about games online.

Well, it seems to generate views, so people will jump on the bandwagon even if it's getting a bit too much. Though it is at least factual, Nintendo has been pretty blatant with its anti consumer practices. But that has been going on for a while, people could have made a stink years ago. But still better than trying to debate people for whom Mario has become surrogate parents.

Could be said about a lot of topics. I would say you can talk to us here, but unfortunately there are members with which this is not possible.

Funny how the Nintendo fandom wasn't ALWAYS like this. Sure you had some annoying fucks, but discourse about the company around the Wii U era was generally healthy. Sony fans were DEFINITELY way more obnoxious. Then the Switch sold a zillion copies and those screeching fucks moved to Ninty. That leads me to believe that the most irritating people aren't really hardcore fans, but rather normies who flock to the most popular piece of plastic of that time.

I can't recall any really obnoxious Nintendo fans and discourse from that time, but you always have people who are too invested in a company's well-being. But Nintendo started to implement some of its bad habits around the Wii U era i.e. artificial scarcity. I would be interested to know if there was a critical discourse about that back in the day, especially from Nintendo fans who are only critical now since it seems to pay the bills.
Sony fans were DEFINITELY way more obnoxious.
Can't recall anything egregious off the top of my head. I might say they have been these past couple of years, but that might be due to Last of Us and the general state of AAA and the shills that tend to defend both things on social media.

Sure, just by nature of being popular, something will attract idiots. The success of the Switch certainly has shown Nintendo that they can do what they want and won't suffer any repercussions for an anti consumer practices, since the useful idiots will prop it up regardless.

Not sure if I agree with that, or it's maybe something in between. From my experience, reading or watching what people say about Nintendo especially in a positive light tends to come from hardcore fans who have an unhealthy relationship with Nintendo for example someone like videogamedunkey, the people on social media tagging Nintendo and FBI every time someone talks about emulations. That weird group of adults that celebrated the Switch's first anniversary with a birthday party. I think normies are the lesser problem. Sure, they are idiots who lack any knowledge, ability to make an informed purchase decision and will prop up anything popular regardless of quality. But they tend to be shallow in their relationship with video games, and thus I would argue have no real motivation to screech about anything with the typical zealotry and fanaticism that can be seen by Nintendo fans and by extension Sony fans and X-Bros.

Nintendo fans get really smarmy if they think they got something on lock. My favorite NeoGAF stories were when the Nintendo DS was doing gangbusters with “non-gamers” and they’d always concoct these bullshit stories about how this totally hot chick was playing Nintendogs on DS while waiting for an accounting class (or whatever) to start. They were humbled by the Wii U but the Switch gave them an outsized ego again.

Only faggots say “Ninty”
