I think that reigning in /v/ when it comes to political stuff is for the best for everyone. Nobody benefits from these threads and it always devolves into shitflinging between /pol/ and the rest of the board denizens. I'll never forget the fact that /v/ is basically the reason for Anita Sarkeesian being as popular as she is today, and that's because of lax moderation.

Also the mods are right, this shit is NOT vidya. Now if only they were as responsive about other non vidya topics (looking at you, e-celeb threads)

They need to make a video culture board, /pol/ should not be the place NeoGAF implosion threads get sent to. This is objectively industry news, regardless of muh SJWs.

Nah. They would have gone down with Gawker. Remember that they were part of it.

The only thing that would likely change Kotaku would be Univision realizing that they could make more money if it weren't such SJW shit. Or a whole bunch of game devs blacklist their ass (more than usual).

But I don't think Univision cares in the short term. Why else would they buy it? They saw some value in it, evidently.

True, but I think a brand new door for Kotaku drama has opened up with Jason Schreier having defended Tyler Malka in the past.

I've been doing some further digging on ETI about Schreier and it just gets weirder and weirder. As best I can tell, he's just a lurker now. He was apparently infamous in years gone by as a particularly prolific troll/shitposter, but I'm having a hard time finding details because... a moderator mass deleted EVERY SINGLE ONE of his posts, on both his accounts, going back YEARS. Even though I assume it wasn't done manually, we're still talking tens of thousands of posts. This isn't recent, it was done at least a year ago. As far as I was able to find, nobody knows who did it or how Schreier convinced them, but I'm 99% sure regular mods there don't have that kind of power. If it was ever done for any other user, I can't find any info on it (though knowing what I do about the site I wouldn't rule it out either).

So in order to get any more info, I'm trying to track down what others have said about him, or to him, reading half the conversation.

Definitely. Schrier was much too close to Malka and his prior instances of being a creep with women was way too prevalent on NeoGAF for Jason to claim that he didn't know or hear about it. His response in the Kotaku article's comments smells of "he doth protest too much".
