I honestly never understood what's the point of those people saying stuff like "I'm so and so" like it's some big deal when it really isn't. It genuinely confuses me. I've never once in my life had to say that kind of stuff like frequently like they do as if it's truly a big deal because I think it's one of those kind of things that are reserved for personal questions/details and stuff but other than that it isn't that really big of a thing.

It's actually very helpful for me, because if a person feels compelled to announce themselves, followed immediately by their pronouns, sexual preferences, and a shopping list of mental impairments, then I know to not to engage them in any form of communication because they are a silly, self-important person.

What little relevance NeoFAG held was due to the holdouts from the former glory days who kowtowed to the SJW overlords for the chance to discuss their beloved vidya games (presumably because they were just too lazy to make an account somewhere else). It really was a weird symbiosis: It's obvious that the SJW crowd couldn't care less about games (unless they could be milked for outrage) but by basically co-hosting a "gaming forum" they were able to inflate their visibility drastically. I predict that with the normies gone, the figleaf of video games will be dropped quickly and the remaining incessant circlejerking will cause this circus to fade into the background noise of the internet.

Basically they're deluded enough to think they're as important as actual celebrities because of the circlejerk being conditioned to worship, or at least not directly ridicule, them. To be fair, NeoGAF wasn't always the way it was. It had some legitimate value once upon a time. If it didn't... nobody would even care about this.

Then it slowly devolved into an SJW cuckfest, and it took a while for the industry to get wise to it. The amount of industry participation in the months and years leading up to its shutdown was nowhere near the level of its halcyon days. Near the end, devs were actively calling them out on how they are shitty and pathetic crybabies.

If a successor site starts out as an SJW cuckfest it will NEVER have the influence and notoriety it once did. At least not the notoriety they want. It'll just be a walled garden for losers that nobody gives a shit about.

Likewise, any attempt by Tyler to revive NeoGAF sans the political horseshit is too little too late at this point. The damage to the name is too extensive.
