Even though people on Resetera hate each others guts, constantly accusing each other of thought crimes, non-stop reporting and blocking, while begging for mods to step in, this is still the closest that many of them have to having "friends". As miserable as many of them seem to be on Resetera, they'll be a thousand times worse speaking with normal people in any other communities, they're too over sensitive and petty to tolerate most other people, and too whiny and self-righteous for others to tolerate them.

Say what you will about us, but I'm sure most of us here browse other forums and communities and can have fun chatting with others. Many people on Resetera are just such unlikeable assholes that they cannot function socially with people outside of Resetera.

That's likely because the vice grip moderation filters most if not all of the hyperbole often associated with criticism, legit or not. Throws the baby out with the bathwater.

It's funny how they punish for "drive by posting" because a post is too brief. Null's rule against just saying things like "good" is a valid one, but plenty of people here can express all they need to about a topic in one sentence just fine.

But then a post is thoroughly written, multiple paragraphs, and they'll ban for "bad faith" arguing. You can't win because they decided what position is allowed to make arguments before they read yours no matter how much or little time you gave it.

For those who aren't aware, Emily Rogers is notorious among Nintendo fans for being heavily involved in promoting fake Nintendo leaks. She was one of the people corroborating with known lolcow Laura Kate Dale in promoting Nintendo NX rumors.

I thought she wasn't currently active, but now she's back to her old tricks, pretending she totally knows something about Retro Studio's upcoming game.

"I totally know something about Retro's game, teehee!" But I won't actually talk about anything!"

I'm really curious as to what else she is posting on the forum, but ResetERA won't let me look at her posts with signing up.

Leaking game announcements has to be the lamest power trip ever. The entire basis being that you're going to spoil the announcement of a commercial product with a massive marketing budget a few weeks or days early so you can help drive clicks to some gameblog.

It's not a real secret, you're not a whistle blower. People need to stop buying games on launch and beta testing, anyways. Engaging with pre-announcement hyping is the most degenerate fanboy behavior.

Honestly when I hear leaks, I kinda wish that person who leaked the said material to burn honestly. That leak could've fucked up the development and the publisher backed out on funding by the stasis out of their contract. And then boom, game is gone.
