I remember at E3 last year that Laura Kate Dale and a few other people leaked the Mario and Rabbids game soon before Ubisoft's presentation, and the director of the game got up on stage and was visibly in tears at seeing the positive reaction to the game (Miyamoto even showed up). I actually felt a little bitter that this guy's crowning moment was sorta ruined by Laura not being able to resist driving some clicks to her site.

In this once instance I think having Mario and Rabbids leak before the presentation gave people enough time to accept what a dumb and weird concept it is which got all the sperging out of the way for when they finally showed it off.

It seems like all of these leaks are related to sjw'ism because you see tonnes of leaks from large gaming companies with colored haired community managers and from sjw-fan favorites like Steven Universe. Anime and major Hollywood productions hardly ever have widely publicized leaks. These people need to give something to look cool to their in-group and so sell out their coworkers. Heck, I'd say that the now infamous Harry Potter leaks are probably linked to this somehow.

Recently, RetardERA had a thread on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and we immediately hit a bit of thermonuclear autism on the part of the mod staff, where anyone complimenting Lara's new design or asked for clarification why it was offensive was given a banhammer swing:

Very quickly, the Moderators and Admins of ResetERA had a problem; they were so heavy-handed with this shit that they'd openly banned like 14 people in 2 pages, and the userbase took notice.

Within a few pages, all discussion was of Mod/Admin overreach. Those who participated in discussing mods/admin abuse of authority were immediately banned.

People who brought up rote hypocrisy from said mods were also instantly banned.

Eventually not even adhering to the groupthink could save users:

Finally, the thread ends as probably the biggest shithead on ResetERA (and that's saying a lot) emerged, and caught a facefull of criticism, ultimately locking the thread and blaming misogyny.

Ya know I have said this before multiple times but it bears repeating. Resetera is a perfect microcosm of how shit like Pol Pot's Cambodia happened. A bunch of delusional radicals take power over a society, and then begin "reorganising" it according to the various contradictory and ultra fringe conspiracy theories and fucktard utopia ideals they have been huffing, deciding that the best way to deal with those who think/speak/exist contradictory to their dogma is to utterly and permanently purge them, and anyone else suspected of sympathising with them, from that society.

And ofcourse once they run out of people to purge for crimes against the dogma, the dogma begins to "evolve" in order to find more people who need to be purged to protect the revolution, even if this contradicts everything said before within the dogma, since those in charge are so high on their power trip and so narcissistic and out of touch that they genuinely believe that anything that they personally dislike or decide is "suspect" is literal and unforgivable treason, and punish it accordingly.

Even as these mass purges play utter havoc with how the society functions and maintains itself, the leadership doesnt give two fucks, and just decide that their society crumbling is just further proof of the reactionary conspirators among the population and thus justification to ramp shit up even further. All this continues until either an internal revolution, or until the society just runs out of people to keep it going and it crumbles into nothing, in both cases though the radicals who started it hopping to a nearby society to try the whole thing all over again and "get it right this time". The former "Revolution" scenario is basically what happened to NeoGaf and is what led to ResetEra being founded.

Frankly as with so many things I am grateful that the internet acts as flypaper to untold numbers of these wannabe authoritarian fuckwits and keeps them spewing autism and tantrums on forums and such, rather than trying to get into positions of power IRL

It'll be one hell of an explosion. Much of the user base clearly resents the mod team for one reason or another, and the mods are so high on their horses that they don't realize how their actions are antagonizing the users even further. If one of the admins gets caught doing something utterly fucked up like what Amirox did (or even something "problematic" like what Evillore did), expect a bloodbath, maybe even a repeat of NeoGAF's implosion.
