I remember being banned by Bishop on GAF the last time this topic came up there. I wrote that I didn't think it was a big deal if voice actors were paired with characters of their own race, as race alone doesn't define them as people, and that - besides - plenty of voice actors of color would find themselves out of work quickly (since their prospects would dry up, as they more often than not voice asian, hispanic, and white characters). Hell, even Kratos is voiced by a black actor. Pretty sure that cock sucker made the ban an entire month, too.

People don't seem to get that voice actors act. They act voices. A good voice actor can "sound black" or "sound white" or "sound like a lion" or sound like whatever.

The whole thread locking thing is so bizarre. "this discussion has run it's course" is the weirdest shit. The discussion clearly hasn't run it's course. You have a thread created by a mod, heavily moderated for (suspected) wrongthink and then closed.

It's like they make these threads for the specific intent on pushing narratives and propaganda, and then shut then down immediately if a critical mass of "greythink" (difficult to ban naunced-think) happens.

It's still up, and he wasn't punished. It's interesting to audit the economics of the forum exchange here; Red Mercury was clearly DUMB in posting what he did, and got a lot of quote replies. He's immune to moderation, being pro-tranny 100% along the party line, but left a gaping hole for trolls and sane folks to respond. On the other hand Dingens was careful not to phrase his rebuttal in any "transphobic" ways and pokes holes in his logic without accusing him of outright bigotry.

What ends up happening in the thread is the mod Brazil just ignores it and homes in on GenericVillainName(who can be easily banned & is later) redirects conversation to the following:

Hmm, I think I understand the reason for that 96.7% of men not wanting to date a transexual. I think maybe it's because straight men are attracted to women, and gay men are attracted to men, and generally they like their sexual partners to have the expected anatomy (Often this anatomy is a big part of the attraction!).

A man who creatively modifies his anatomy is a man. A woman who does the same is a woman. But now their anatomies don't match what their potential partners would expect.
