The absolute state of ResetEra. It's not enough they just ban people wholesale for wrongthink. They consistently lock threads that damage the personal narratives of individual moderators, even if it's super relevant industry stuff.

That's the thing, they don't actually care about each other on a personal level, they just care about the narrative. I bet a lot of these people currently screeching about how unfair the firing is were secretly overjoyed when they found out because it means they get to dig up GG's corpse again. Their ideology requires victims and martyrs to use as cudgels against their enemies, so while they'll virtue signal to high heaven about helping out Jessica, none of them will actually help her because that would reduce her martyr status.

I don't agree with firing people for wrongthink. The only exception to this is if the person getting fired believes in firing for wrongthink, because watching someone's ideology bite them in the ass is funny and I hope it will teach them something. They never learn, though.

First of all, thank you for doing that, I'm sure reading through it myself would have been a torturous experience. Secondly, this set of screencaps really emphasizes a weird neurosis that I've only seen on ResetEra: The second that any single disagreeing opinion pops up in a thread, people who support the original opinion go absolutely batshit insane and start saying that 60% of the thread is against them and that the forums have been completely overtaken by alt-right nazis. I know that being seen as a victim is valuable to these people, but generally when they're in their safe spaces they like to smugly taunt dissenters that their opinion has no place there. Only on Era are they willing to ring the invasion alarm at the drop of a hat.

To be fair, I've seen it before, but it was another left echo-chamber forum. Like ResetEra, a lot of user energy seemed devoted to threads where they could all violently agree with each other, and the moment someone even *seemed* to offer a point of view not 100% aligned with them, they were demonised and the whole place was dismissed as being taken over by (insert TERF/MRA/incel/gamergate/racists/etc.) and their evil schemes.
So yeah, I think it's just a sign of an epic echo chamber. The slightest dissonance shows it's no longer secure, and that's intolerable to them.
