I think it was worth taking seriously, at least within reason. There are times where criticism of game journalism is still worth doing. Especially when cronyism and corruption is involved. But I think at this point game journalism is so discredited that only the SJW types and out of touch publishers listen to them. We've come a long way since the days when "Half-Life wins over 50 game of the year awards!" actually meant something.
Gamergate itself is over, now we're just waiting for the momentum to finish them off. GetWokeGoBroke is kicking companies like EA and Ubisoft in the balls, and they will either course correct or die. Meanwhile, game journalists are shoving controllers up their own arses for clicks, using copy pasted "X is the Dark Souls of Y" headlines, and are incapable of beating a tutorial of a game without a dev standing beside them to walk them through it. While I personally underestimated the amount of connections and favours they have, they're going to run out eventually.
