Worst thing is, I'd actually rather the protag be an alien. Star Wars has a bad habit of relying on humans as the central leads (especially in the Sequel Trilogy) and I wouldn't mind seeing another race get the spotlight for a change. But you can't say that now without people thinking you mean you just don't want the character to be white and male.

Friendly reminder that the protagonist of the last Star Wars video game was a woman of color (god, I hate that term).

In fact, there haven't really been that many white males as lead protagonists outside of preestablished characters ever since Disney acquired the brand (nor many aliens, for that matter). Since there hasn't been any shortage of "diverse" characters, why is having a single white guy be a protagonist suddenly a travesty?

If I didn't know better, I'd say this is proof that the site has a prejudice against white guys (or self-loathing).

I find it hilariously ironic that many of these people that detest white people having a lead role in any work of fiction are usually white lefties that make a big deal about this. Pretty much these idiots are the most self-loathing losers ever.

From what I understand, SweetNicole was a "big player" on the TransGAF Discord even if she was not very prominent on the forum itself. Much like the Black Culture Thread group they had an in with certain GAF moderators (bishop, besada, etc.) and this translated to their prominence during the formation of ResetEra since those (and PoliGAF and a couple others) were where they were pulling people from. Head dumpster excelsiorlef was similarly a nobody on GAF turned into Queen everyone now ignores on Era from her Discord presence. Hell, Cerium was basically a nobody on GAF itself even within the communities he was "part of" and then suddenly everyone "knew" him.

When they talk about diversity in those pre-forum Discord screenshots it's clear now that meant a Switzerland like "magic formula" of at least one moderator each from what once was TransGAF, BCT, PoliGAF, NintendoGAF, etc. Like for PoliGAF somebody left, so Kirblar became a moderator, then he was dropped and B-Dubs became it and has now advanced to admin. A lot of the staff thankfully are in multiple groups, like Cerium only ever posted in PoliGAF/NintendoGAF threads if you look back.

The forum's paranoia about everything "bad" coming from or being organized off-site is all because that's how they've all operated for years. The most transparent form being how people run back to the "community" threads to bitch about stuff happening elsewhere on the forum. Or maybe the most transparent being that time they all pulled up stakes and left for a new forum with blackjack and hookers "transparent" moderation and pages of rules to talk about storefront preferences.
