So it seems all day today there have been complaints of ads hijacking people's mobile devices. Every topic complaining was locked and everyone was sent to the "ad feedback" topic. Imagine having such an exceptional forum you need a topic for people to complain their devices are being hijacked 
Anyway, the big boss Isamu Fukui swoops in to calm everyone's anger to say it is being looked into

Hi lad and welcome, to my surprise people here are pretty chill. Not the nigger-females-muslim-haters some depict, there are some of course, but the vast majority is cool and you can literally talk about anything you want here, which is nice. People are ass to eachothers, but they don't mean it. It's the opposite of passive agressiveness in a sens.
Anwyas, regarding gaf replacement as a "news hub" : I'm like you, the only and sole reason I visited Neogag was because I could get gaming news quickly, in a same place, just by browsing the front page of the forum. Resetera isn't a good replacement at all.
Restera is heavily Nintendo-centric. Most gaming threads got overlooked on Resetera, unless it's about Nintendo or about something they can Reeeeeee about. If it's not about LGBT+ABC or Nintendo, it won't stay on the front page for long. I missed a lot when I was still thinking Resetera could be a good replacement for Neogaf. Remember Nintendo Labo, a product nobody cares about, that tanked hard everywhere in the world ? It was one of the most popular topic of discussion for months, until everyone finally realized that it was bombing hard. Nintendo fucking Labo. That tells you alot about how they are : they don't care about "core" games, they only care about the most shallow stuff.

About the "why do sane people still stick on that shithole of a site?" question, i would just say that the it's not as simple as it looks.
The thing is, there's kind of a niche of about late 20s/30 years old people that don't want to deal with imageboards and Reddit's layout, and only want to talk about videogames on an old-fashoned forum. And that's what Resetera still somehow manages to be: a decently sized videogame board with a decently large userbase, fast paced activity, a bunch of comunities that appear to be actually populated, and updated gaming news (yes, they're censored, but i guess that most people either don't know that or just don't care about a bunch of tiny, niche weeb or indie games anyway). So, if you avoid all the retarded outrage ban-bait threads (and there's even a specific tampermonkey script that allows people to istantly hide every kind of dumb shit), there's still some kind of unironical "enjoyment" to be had from it.
It's kind of the same shit that happened with NeoGaf: the mentally ill lunatics have infiltrated and hijacked a traditionally appealing product and they're now forcing normal people to eat their shit up if they still want to be part of it.
Or just like what's happening with modern american focused entertainment, isn't it? "You want to see your favourite capeshit movie, isn't it? Here it is, but we've also shoved a bunch of cringey feminist and woke scene in it and shut the fuck up". "You want Star Wars, right? Here it is, but it's filled with diversity quotas, purple haired tumblerinas and monodimensional stronk womyn as protagonists and shut the fuck up". "You want your AAA western game, right? Here it is, but it stars a TOTALLY BADASS strong black woman with a giant afro, or some puropsely ugly white dyke as protagonist anyway so shut the fuck up". Etc, etc.
I don't know how good this place is for discussing videogames, it looks to be a fun place anyway, so i might give it a try i guess.

Yes there is, just like there was one on NeoGaf as well, and it's also openly endorsed on their forum.
Of course, is not ""officially"" meant to be used for that, but they definitely know what they're doing.
