Where's the actual sexual assault here ? They were a couple (of clearly broken people), she lived in his appartment... If the story is true, he was clearly an abusive boyfriend behind close door, but I must have missed the actual sexual assault part.

Nathalie said the guy "raped" her but she's leaving the important part out. What was the actual situation of rape ? Did she even said no ? Her story makes it sound like she "accepted" sex with the guy in fear of losing her opportunity to work in the industry. Is that what she called a rape ? We need more details to conclude anything, but the fact she left the important part out is a big red flag.

I pretty much agree women have it hard in this world and some awful men love to take advantage of them, but those stories about the gaming industry are always the same : young women with next to no talent want to be part of the industry and accept sex from dubious people in exchange, only to regret it after and paint the relationship in the worst light possible. I'm afraid that quality games reviewing and mags have always been the exception rather than the rule. I found a sheaf of my old Atari ST Users from back in the day and was shocked at just how pants their reviewing was. They gave International Rugby Challenge, a notoriously awful game in many ways, 78%. I flick through the rest of the pages and who's bought a load of advertising space? Domark, the publisher of... International Rugby Challenge.

They give the exceptionally detailed and autistic space shuttle simulator, Shuttle, 97%. Now okay, I've not played Shuttle, but a few pages later is a giant full-page ad extolling the latest releases from Virgin Games. Including... Shuttle.

Then again, they did give Final Command, a game for lovers of the colour brown, 12% and said, "run screaming from any shop that sells it." Final Command was developed and published by Ubisoft and coincidentally, they never bought any ad space in British publications at that time. Now I've played Final Command and it's pretty turgid but merely below average. It's not full on broken and horrific.

And this wasn't just that rag (although ST User's application software reviewing and hardware / addon reviewing was pretty top notch, and they did some pretty in depth howto's on assembly language and C programming) - check out all the other ST mags and all the Amiga mags except for Amiga Power, and you'll notice that they barely played any of the games and all used very similar illustrative screenshots. And there was a correlation between advertising spend and quality of reviews. And a huge bias against RPGs and strategy games, which implied that because they didn't sit down with them and get into them properly, they didn't really get the experience they were aiming at.

PC Format was quite good as well back in the 1990s, but once again, exception rather than the rule.

As terrible as I feel admitting this, given Zoe's history of vindictiveness and pathological lying, I wouldn't trust her if she told me I was on fire.

I feel bad because she could be telling the truth as much as she could be lying. But Zoe Quinn is type of person who hammers out a six page rape accusation because someone slighted her.
