People don't normally care if the character is under 18 as long as they look above 13, so I'm not surprised there hasn't been any significant drama before. It's just that more fans have been getting more protective of there favorite waifus lately.

Drawing porn of a character who is underaged is still pedophiliac and is sexualizing a child even if you draw an aged up version of the character that doesn't look like a child in any way. This then leads to people saying that this is like lolicon and condemning it and lolicon.

Yeah, but oppai lolis are a thing so there is presadent for lolis with big boob, but they aren't very common so I doubt the people who are angry know what an oppai loli is, and oppai lolis don't have curves like that.

That's not pedophilia, that's creativity. That said, I can see Era riding the coattails of that drama, and being super pissed at Sakimichan for flying in the face of their retarded values, and I use that word VERY loosely for them.
