Prior to coming to check this thread, I spent the past few hours on Twitter and came across at least a dozen blue checkmarks and game journalists defending blind consumerism and openly sending their followers to dogpile and harass minor accounts saying mean things about their precious switch game.

I've seen a few of these reee gamer petition tweets. They usually get a lot much more attention than the actual petition. I'm starting to think the twitter addicts are creating the petitions for attention.

I remember some dumbass journalist getting his had caught in the cookie jar doing that. It was in a private facebook group and someone leaked that he planned the whole thing to write articles or something.

I don't remember the saga of the blue checkmarks vowing to defend Far Cry 5 from the straight white gamer menace, just the arc where they were mad about conservatives being the good guys. Even Saint Anita railed against 3 in her last Tropes vs. Wimmin in the Vidyagames episode. Was Far Cry ever really woke?

It doesn't help that the game is getting positive votes despite most of them openly admitting that the game is "unambitious".

I've never bought a single Pokemon games, I don't care about them, but for whatever reasons I followed the Sword and Shield Schadenfreude (yeah I'm bored). If you need one ultimate proof those gaming reviewers are anything but glorified and ignorant unemployed shills, that's exactly it.

All reviews are basically : "*spending ten paragraphs to describe flaws*, yeah it sucks, but it's Pokemon 8/10, thanks Gamefreak, would buy again... and it has PIKACHU !!". lol ? The Eurogamer review might be the only one that shat on a game and they still went for a soft approach, like they feared Nintendo would send many Cerium after them if they ever went too hard.

By the way, it's quite funny those reviewers play the big victims on Twitter and co, when barely anyone read reviews nowadays. I can believe a dozen people sent her empty death threats, but acting like she's at the center of a shitstorm ? Nah fam.

No, their problem was that the cult wasn't Christian Trump supporters lynching minorities. A lot of these people were practically salivating over the thought of getting to gun down "bigots", but they got pissed when they found out the cult was just a doomsday cult that used an utterly bastardized take on Christianity (and had some black members in their ranks).

Thus, they took their anger out on the game by docking points off their reviews for it being too "cowardly" and "apolitical".

At this point you can think circles around them, they're not really freethinkers anymore. I'm not even saying it to stroke your dick, but they've become completely incapable of thinking outside of their box, even I've seen some Islamic or Nazi shit where I go "hay, maybe those lunatics have a good point". Even on twitter their brain shuts down out when dealing with anything outside of it. The abortion joke "I'm all for killing unborn babies and devaluing life, but giving women more rights is something doesn't sit well with me", and I've had the blue checkmarks actually take it seriously.

I've kinda learned they're a lost cause, and Resetera is more of a containment facility than anything else.

I was surprised how much I've enjoyed 5 seeing as I wasn't even planning on getting it based on the story originally. I'm not sure if I'm just relived I'm not climbing 700 radio towers like in 4, but I think they did a pretty good job of recreating that weird middle America vibe. The politics are pretty middle of the road which is honestly what I expect from a AAA video game and while there seems to be a little bit of an argument between whether they want to be realistic of flat out weird, I've found the game really enjoyable for something I bought just to kill time. It seems like they cleaned up a lot of what I didn't like about the Far Cry series. I don't think I'm going to play New Dawn or whatever after though because that honestly seems like it should've been a DLC, not another game.

Collecting the whiskey barrels (it's up in Faith's region, which I've liberated.) One of them seems to have a magical barrier that keeps the MC from swimming more than 14 meters toward it. At first I thought it was a puzzle, but others complaining about it points to the game being broken there. One said they contacted Ubisoft and was told rebooting the PS4 to repair the database is supposed to fix it. Yeah, no, there's other stuff I can work on. Patch your shit, Ubisoft.
