The murder rate for cis people is over 3x higher. When will we begin to address the scourge that is transprivilege?!

This happening multiple times isn't a coincidence, it's something which is an inevitability given the structure of both ResetEra and NeoGAF. But because the users are also stupid, they think the problem is just a few bad apples when the entire tree is rotted from the ground up. They'll just ban a few users, consider it work done, maybe make a new forum to run to, and it will repeat once again.

TL;DR To be worse off, they'd need to be 0.19% for the USA, or a very sketchy 0.08% worldwide.

Spoiler: math!

Using my numbers, it would need to be less half the current estimate, so < 0.3% of adults in the US. I think @Ctrl+Alt+Rt did the calculation including the estimated child trans population (don't get me started), so you'd divide his by 3 to get about 0.19% of total US population.

I don't think we have compatible enough numbers to do a proper worldwide calculation. But if you pretend the entire world has as many troons as the US, and there really were only 331 known homicides in a year, that puts them way down at 0.79 homicides per 100,000.

There is no good way to get consolidated global homicide data, and countries define and report them very differently, in incompatible ways. Using this because I'm lazy, it looks like the global rate can be carelessly estimated at 5.79 per 100,000. Which is roughly 7.3x the murder rate for the trans subset.

So globally, to make trans people worse off in terms of murders, you'd have to drop their population estimate to 0.08% to make them higher.

I have very little confidence in any of these calculations, due to the disparate data, but you get an idea of the scales involved.

Edit: worth noting, the other way to make them worse off is to assume the number of murders is being under-reported; then you just multiply it the other way around. So you'd need to find an extra 31-62 murders in the USA, or another 2,086 murders globally, to support that 0.6% number.

To have the same murder rate as everyone else in the USA, either 90 troons would need to have been murdered (vs. 31) or their population size would need to be 624,280 (vs. 1,810,177), which is just over 0.2% (vs. 0.58%).

The reason they have a lower murder rate is that they're middleclass white men whose biggest worry in life is getting banned on a gaming forum.
