There was a poll a while back that put most of ResetEra's user base around age 35. That's old enough to remember Jack Thompson and parent groups saying that GTA was going to turn people into killers and Tomb Raider was going to turn boys into perverts. (Given the rise of weeb games, they might have been right about that last one.)

It's surreal because video games are not a scary new thing they don't understand. They should know playing Mortal Kombat didn't make people rip strangers spines out with their bare hands. They should know that gaming has a wide array of characters, gameplay, and stories. But instead they try and spin this bullshit narrative that gamers are straight white male nazis exclusively.

Same with environmentalism. It's not just teenagers who are learning about climate change for the first time and rebelling against their parents. It's 35 year old men who are old enough to remember when they were told leaving the TV on while they take a piss would cause the polar ice caps to melt.

It will still fail, but it's somehow even more pathetic since they don't have the excuse of being young and naive.

35!? Fucking hell, that's terrible. After 30 you are supposed to have learned that half the shit these tards want in their "revolution" isn't going to work. At least that's what I thought. Up until now I assumed there was a cutoff age for woke and that it wasn't just me.

But yeah, this is the generation that lived through the end of the Satanic Panic, Lieberman, Jack Thompson and Dave Grossman. Now all of a sudden games will ruin the world because the person saying it has tits (biological or otherwise)?

Reset is nearly unusable on mobile lately due to invasive ads

It makes me wonder how these people play games with jobs and classes where the whole theme is pushing yourself to get more skilled and be more capable and somehow they can't reflect on their own life and see they've never really pushed themselves to the limit.

Like they talk about games triggering them and making the bad thoughts happen, the #1 thing that should routinely send them over the edge should probably be not having a career.
