Allegedly (and by "allegedly" I mean according to people viewing Sony marketing material, which is obviously gonna be outlandish) the storage solution they have is something a little closer to Intel's 3D X-Point in vision. Some kind of hybrid SSD or a very fast NVME drive that would allow rapid loading of textures from storage instead of system RAM. It could just be stuffed to the gills with DIMMs though, with like 32 gigs of RAM.
That being said, if such a technology and loading structure were developed for a console the benefits for PCs would be tremendous. People would just buy 3 more sticks of RAM and get equivalent or superior quality with their full-sized desktop graphics cards and unthrottled CPUs.

This is something I find asinine. Unless it concerns sensitive legal matters, I tend to run All The Tropes in as public a manner as possible because I don't fear accountability. I'm also well aware what I and other staff do will, to borrow a phrase from George Washington, have the eyes of Argus on us, so there is no point being obsessed with off site commentary, it's inevitable and if you have nothing to hide, not worth getting scared over.
However, when you have place run by a cabal of self-important janitors who think having a mop and bucket means they should rule by absolute decree and have secret meetings away from the dirty plebes to decide whom to unperson, place like this throwing shade are legit scary, because they might invite a spy into their ranks, and they take being janitors so seriously that terrifies them.
I'm of the opinion that if the moderation has nothing to hide (save legal stuff that has good cause to remain discreet), you should be open about it, but then again, I don't run a forum like these guys run the second coming of East Germany when the Stasi were a thing.
