All of the citizens of Tokyo are guilty of the sin of Sloth/Apathy, the main antagonist spells it out during a ten minutes monologue and the final boss is the personification of the general public's refusal to give a shit. The sexual abuser was never confronted by anybody because nobody gave enough of a shit to intervene, that's all. It has noting to do with ATLUS promoting some sort of pro-sexual harassers agenda.

Because they're usually very popular among both right and left leaning fans like Persona 5, and Resetera doesn't like when a thing that is super popular and has even a tiny bit of what they consider "problematic content" even if they're taking it out of context. They hold their breath and scream and can't understand why people, even those ostensibly on their side such as websites like Kotaku and Polygon, fawn over and love the game when they don't.

Admittedly I have not played the game because I am a fucking coward, but I have read several synopses and I get the impression that HE thinks he was selfish... which is a pretty common reaction to grief in general, especially when it’s a loved one who died slowly - whether assisted or not. So if that’s all they too away from it, it’s either a very surface reading or a complete lack of empathy.
