Ha, literally every site that mentions Neogaf shutting down is filled with either "good riddance" or "I hope they don't come here". IGN, Gamespot, MMO-Champion, Reddit, every gaming site out there hates their guts. I think the only gaming site community that's even remotely unhappy about this is from what I saw was Giant Bomb, and even then their overall reaction is kinda 50/50, with a lot of people who even admitted to liking the site calling out the shitty mods and their biases.

I think it was the hysterical, panicked overreaction that really finished them, but in retrospect, it was inevitable.

As the site's poisonous, cancerous influence over the industry waned, they were growing increasingly angry about it. The autistic tantrum over JonTron and the fact that the indie developer basically told them to go eat shit, and was unpunished, made it really clear it was no longer a social justice powerhouse but just a bunch of angry crybabies.

Tyler tried his usual ban everyone bullying but nobody was having it any more.

Nothing involving that greasy floater could possibly be any good. It does seem possibly fake, though.
