Say, does anybody here still go to Neopets? Or am I alone on this site?

From what I’ve seen it’s still going to some extent, the death of Flash has made it somewhat iffy. My browser still gives me “not secure” warnings thoughout the site so, if anyone’s curious aout diving back in, I’d be careful.Holy shit, neopets is still going?
Yeah… Neocash is still a thing, they apparently got into NFTs TWICE, and brought back physical merchandise.Man, I remember when that was the shit. Unfortunately, by this point there's too much cash shop and other such stuff to ignore.
The best thing you could probably get is a Tamagotchi, those have recently come back and they not as cringe-worthy.I am feeling nostalgic, though... are there any other similar things that aren't a shamefur dispray?
You get the brushes from limited events, starter packs, game of chance or random lucky events. Sadly the only consistent way to find any if you have shit luck is the marketplace, but at insane pricesI remember playing it when I was 12, fun shit. You'd think having an app with all the web functionality will at least get a lot of people of my generation hooked.
One thing that I never understood was the dye items to get new skins for your pet. They were either all max price or private group auctions. Was there any whaling option to get them?
It is odd, isn't it? Despite it's obvious fatal flaw, NeoQuest and its sequel were one of the meatier offerings on the site. I would have thought they'd get some kind of proper video game release, but alas. They never updated it? Kek.
They never updated it? Kek.A few years ago I did another playthrough of NeoQuest to see how it was, since I had fond memories of it as a kid.
It's perfectly fine as babby's first JRPG, but holy fuck is playing it like pulling teeth. Having to load a web page for every tile you move in a sprawling, mazelike dungeon is pure torture, and the thought that many people were likely suffering through this with dial up fills me with horror.
Webkinz was super popular for a year or two during my early life. Hit my area at the time when my classmates could use the computer and just before we were too old for stuffed animals. Before this thread I hadn't thought about it in atleast ten years. Dunkey did a video on it a awhile ago:Yup. I remember Webkinz too. I'm such a young'un. Webkinz could never compare though because even though it was 3D with a customizable house and etc., it was like a Neopets you had to pay for. Also they forced you to buy a new pet at least every year (maybe closer to 6 months?) or else your account would expire.
The owner of Marapets is a faggot who had a bone to pick with Neo because he got banned many years ago. A bunch of other retards got mad at him for some of the pet costumes being racist, but it's not the worst stuff I've seen.I had a lot of fun with Neopets back in the day but it's definitely on life support these days. It's kind of sad because Neopets itself probably would have translated well to mobile and I think they did try, but it was too late.
Aside from Neopets does anyone else remember any of the smaller virtual pet sites? I recall Marapets being the next "big" site after Neopets and it still exists today. Heck it might be in overall better health, but those communities have all waned. There were so many of these sites and I was really, really into them.
