🐱 Netflix Movie 'Cuties' Could Be Investigated For Violations Of Child Exploitation Laws

Texas lawmaker has called for the Netflix film Cuties to be investigated for possible violations of child exploitation and child pornography following uproar over a poster that sexualizes the young actors—but the film's creator says the film itself has been misinterpreted.

Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, Matt Schaefer has asked the state's attorney general to conduct an investigation.

Schaefer announced his plans on twitter amid calls to "cancel Netflix" which began trending on the site.

"I have asked Texas Attorney General Paxton's office to investigate the @netflix film Cuties for possible violations of child exploitation and child pornography laws. #CUTIES#txlege," he tweeted.

Titled Mignonnes in French, the film sparked hundreds of thousands of calls to #CancelNetflix on Twitter this week, following its release this week.

Netflix's promotional poster for the movie sparked intense backlash last month for showing the child actors wearing revealing dance attire of shorts and crop tops and striking various dance poses, like kneeling on the floor and squatting.

Female pedophiles do exist although they're statistically less common.

The novelist Marion Zimmer-Bradley was a notorious lesbian pedophile who sexually abused her own daughter along with several other girls she knew in the hippie subculture and Sci-Fi/Fantasy circles. She even tried to start the lesbian equivalent of NAMBLA under a fake name, but it didn't really go anywhere. Matter of fact, she was even in a mutual beard marriage with Walter Breen, a notorious pederast.

As much as I'm disgusted by the movie Cuties, I honestly don't think this case could really ever go anywhere unless it catches a miraculously lucky break and the case goes federal.

I wanted to read Mists of Avalon but you can bet I nope'd out after hearing about her real life

Who the fuck is this infidel pig and why should I care.

Unless he is a high ranking member of the DNC or some rich elite cocksucker like Bezos, why should we care about the input of this fat, debased, hedonistic, soulless, degenerate, white infidel pig.

I want to know what Biden thinks about this and is it okay to choke the chicken to legalized Cheese Pizza now. Netflix has heavily contributed to the Biden campaign.
He's a lolcow who thinks COD caused 9/11 and you can grow wheat on the moon & ship it back to the earth. He's the Consoomer meme incarnate and a giant Globohomo shill. He's also a raging nazi, in the literal sense, that thinks republicans and flyover country inhabitants are not human and should be treated like Jews were in WWII. And laments that people in the early 20th century gave Eugenics a bad name.

I'm not making any of that up.

Apparently there's a moment where one of the girls exposes one of her breasts? I haven't seen it but that was part of the reviews.

If they show an underage character's bare breast at all that is child porn. That is in violation of American law, regardless of the age of the actress.

What I heard (haven't seen the movie) it's actually like a 16 year old that does that in an internet video the girls watch for inspiration how they should behave to get internet likes. Point that whole thing being that these girls are being raised by the internet and getting very sexual message of what woman should do to be valued. Attention hoes doing ho things for attention and little girls copying without full understanding of what's going on. But like I said I haven't seen it so just hear say.

Even if that's true, the girl is underage by American standards (not French) and that's still child porn.

Fuck Netflix and their pedo-enabling. They can talk out of one side of their mouth about how this is an important piece of art so we can have a big think as a culture about topical issues, while in the background they are quietly assassinating any piece of media that has people wearing black face paint.

The second season of The Community has 24 episodes! Not 23, you fucking spineless nonce cowards! They don't give a single flying fuck about the integrity of media, or social commentary, they are simply a pro-child fucking advocacy outlet and I hope they collapse so badly into ruin that Blockbuster can buy them out.

Not to be pedantic but does Texas have jurisdiction over this movie? It’s a French film being broadcast on a Californian video service. Can Texas choose to selectively ban a movie in its own boarders? It certainly doesn’t have jurisdiction to interview the producers/directors/actors right?

Why is he so vehemently defending children performing lewd acts? Like why is this your hill to die on

Are you new to the world of MovieBob? You're in for a wild ride...

Is anyone surprised?
The amount of kids they had to audition was key enough.
But for some reason I don't think anything will come of this. We're genuinely living in a time where you could use 'diversity' as a fucking defence against pretty much anything
I wouldn't be suprised if in a few years time the same people defending the movie make excuses as to why it's okay for creator of the movie to chase after minors because she's a black woman when it inevitably comes out she's a creep.

I saw the clip - and yes, one does (it's not one of the main girls, though - it's a rival group of dancers; but still made up of young girls.

The excuses I've seen to excuse that scene was 'Oh, they're clearly older than the main cast/look 18-20; so it's okay!' Not sure where they're getting that age bracket from, as there's no info that can be found on who the actresses were (so you can't verify an age); but, in my opinion, the girls didn't look older than 16, at the oldest. Besides, it's easy to make someone look older/younger than they actually are with the proper use of makeup (pageants/movies have been doing that for ages).

I have found myself wondering if that's why they're willing to die on this hill; not because they actually support the movie/the message it claims to preach about, but because - being staunch supporters of BLM - they don't want to risk backlash for removing a movie that was directed by a black woman and who's lead actress happens to be a black child.

Imagine having to choose between being labeled a pedo enabler or a racist misogynist.

states have banned films before. birth of a nation was banned by cities and states.

they can nail the distributor for child pornography. people are saying there's pre teen flashing so that could be a problem.

the vagina photo doesnt show vag so its not porn consideration.

for all the "its a movie against child sexualization" talk, no has said if the kids stop being thots and go back to being trad muslims.

e
wikipedia only has a premise for the movie, no synopsis, so i cant read the ending.
Gee I wonder why they want the information on this shit as obfuscuated as possible?

Come on @Y2K Baby, there is no need to cover for the missing @Senior Lexmechanic in here.
Lex is too busy watching his new favorite movie, cut him some slack.

I've read it multiple times, usually around this time of year, to the point the spine split and I had to tape it together (I don't have it anymore though). It's a good book imo. Been a long time since I've read it, I remember she overuses a lot of metaphors, but you only notice after a few re-readings lol. I was pretty devastated to learn about her pedophilia many years after my Ren Faire / Wicca days, but the book is connected to a really fun time in my life so I choose to separate art from artist in this case. I'm sure you can find it free on the web somehow and this is the perfect time of year to get immersed in the magical atmosphere (if you can forget who wrote it).

Back before internet streaming, films were only viewable at theaters and the only medium the transmit from were reels of film stock. Until the adoption of home video, banning films was pretty easy.

Trying to block this film in the internet age is nigh impossible. Unless Texas or any other state want to spend millions into internet infrastructure to prevent their citizens from watching Netflix. Which wouldn't work since VPNs are a thing and can eaisly circumvent a firewall ban on the site. Not to mention people could just burn DVDs with copies of the film or use flash drives to give it to others. The best they could do would be to ban screenings of the film at theaters. Which might work since places like Alamo Draft House call Texas home.

netflix stops offering the movie to texans. simple as that. the point is to pressure netflix not stop piracy.

That's not happening. Period. Netflix is drowning in the progressive kool aid. There's probably actual pedos on staff at Netflix who okayed this film being allowed on their service. They're jerking it to this film.

They're gonna use people complaining about this film as a kludge to beat them over the head with. Mocking them about how they're wrong a and stuck in the past.
