Oh, it's making rounds on news outlets.

Oh, and I have recently discovered that 4chan's /co/ boards had leaked what is apparently, the second season of the show:

Interesting turn of events...

Speaking of which, anyone have any thoughts about Season 1

Main character looks like as if Ninja became a discord mod, lol.

If you prompted an AI image generator with "Ninja Fortnite in Steven Universe" you'd get this character.

Also the creator looks like queer James Corden so I can only imagine he's the most insufferable person on earth.

Nah, I can't really think of any SU character that'd have tumblr nose unless it was a gem or something. These designs are just run of the mill beanmouth stuff without much in the way of iconography to set them apart from all the other shows of their ilk.

So it's more bland and gay than the bog standard bland and gay. Impressive.

How the fuck did this comic even get published, this art wouldn't even get frontpaged on Deviantart.
Did a little bit of internet sleuthing. The Cartoon Hangover short was where it began in 2014. Then it was continuing in comics in 2018. Then published by Nobrow Press (the same ones who published Hilda) and continued to be as such until now where it got to full series.

Deadendia got here for three reasons:
1. It's made by queers, for queers. And queers are profitable right now.
2. Nobrow is a small press in London, not a big one like Dupuis (they publish Spirou) so I don't think it's hard to get your shit printed over there. Looking through Nobrow Press' catalogue, they look no different from First Second's lineup of graphic novels here in the US (as in that same AT/Flapjack ripoff style).
3. He's mainly an animator, not a comic maker. So he used comics as a means to an end like others of his ilk.

That's the conclusion I came to. If an interview comes out we'll know for sure.
