Yes, I got it. I was making a small joke, sir.
I feel as :stupid: as Chris now. I pull out my Apology Letter card:

Ricardo W Chandler
That's Ricardo Retardo Weston Chandler to you! :alog:

The work of an Autistic Adult.
There, fixed for you.

This makes no sense: "Mario es muy gordo" means "Mario is really fat" but in the picture Mario is really thin.... What?
"HE'S FAT! I'M THIN!"

His overall grade for that year in english class was a D+.
So then we know Chris was probably being overly dramatic. Granted, a D+ is still bad.

As other people have noted, Chris' concept of geography is sketchy at best. Interestingly, he seems to lump all of Africa and Europe together while putting Canada and Mexico as separate countries. None of which look anything like their real world counterparts. And yes, Asia is mostly missing from his map, though it looks like Africa is still connected to the Eurasian supercontinent by the Arabian peninsula... or maybe its supposed to be Anatolia or a stretched out Israel and Levant? Either way, its coloured in as part of Africa, not Asia, which is rather baffling. Also, Africa bears more resemblance to South America than Africa... there's no Horn of Africa, no Nile or Suez, no Gulf of Guinea...
Never mind that in his comics, Chris couldn't seem to decide whether CWCville was in Virginia or Japan. He didn't(and perhaps still doesn't)even know Kanto was actually a region in Japan!

He probably should have been in special ed classes (and in fact, I seem to recall his "day in the life of Chris" project implying he was) but most of his work seems to indicate otherwise. I suspect maybe he was given a mix of special ed and regular classes to facilitate his transition. Of course, being Chris, he never took advantage of that and just slept or read Goosebumps books. I'm actually appalled that they would have let him move ahead, but I'm sure the teachers just wanted him out of their hair at that point. Its a pity because maybe getting held back a year would have sent Chris a message that he needed to actually do some work.
I actually think it's possible that Chris could've stayed in the mainstream classes, but still receive special attention when needed. Simple, they could have just hooked him up with a classroom aide through elementary school, have a few sessions with a counselor do this regular schooldays on a weekly basis, but also set up sessions with a therapist or support group outside of school. From personal experience, that kind of plan yields some pretty good results.

Oh the Song of Christian. I was just reading that again. Such terrible work. I don't think he really made the Honor Roll, or if he did, they really must have lowered the bar for him. I do think its funny he's so proud of his work when this is showing what utter crap it was.
More likely Borb could have made some "nagosheeashions". I also remember a guy I knew in middle school told me that the only reason a special needs kid was succeeding in our class was because the teacher was filling in the answers to tests for him. He didn't have any fact to back this up however, and I think was more out of jealousy because he received a "B" on a test while the other kid got an "A". This kid was also autistic like Chris, but his parents seemed to be kind of "eh, he's broken" or so I've been told. I wouldn't be surprised if Borb had been lowering the bar for him since birth, and when I think about how Chris is proud of his work regardless of quality, it's actually a little sad now that I think about it. I have this sinking feeling that for the most part Borb were kind of "Yes, that's nice Christian", but this is probably my low expectations of the Chandlers speaking.

Oh, I have no doubt that 14BC was a giant garbage pile, but it's not surprising that some stuff burnt even though other stuff was lost. Remember, fires take time to spread. They don't burn with the same intensity all across the house, nor will everything of gone up all at once. Some stuff is just more flammable that other stuff, and some stuff will be protected. Clearly this didn't go up in flames for whatever reason. Let's all take a moment to appreciate that.
It's nice to know that even after the house fire, we have not entered a total Dark Age of Christory with 14BC being our Anchuent library of Alexandria. The best part is that what we have been recovering has offered us some valuable insight to certain areas of Christory.

Heh. Not really surprising. For one thing, we know Barb is a hoarder, and that Chrissun was her special little angel. I'm sure she kept every single childhood drawing and homework assignment little Chris ever wrote, because it was her keepsake, showing how he'd overcome his Atismu. She's probably got even more boxes filled with his crap. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd kept his baby clothes... Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she'd kept his dirty soiled briefs and fapcups for that matter.
I actually find it kind of touching when on of your parents make a scrapbook of your acchievements such as photos of that school musical where you played the lead in or articles in the newspaper detailing your swim team making it to State. The thing with Barb, maybe it's my bias against her talking, but I can't help but think that in the back of her mind, any of Chris's "achievements" or lack thereof were just more items for her hoard.

What year was Chris at this time? American high schools have four years, and its unlikely Chris' Spanish would have been good enough to justify bumping him ahead a year or two, so he couldn't have taken 4th year Spanish before he was a Senior. And that's assuming that his school offered 4th year Spanish (which is a pretty good bet, but still).
I haven't seen the list of classes and when they were taken Chris's report cards, but I know that it's possible to take two years of a language class back to back. Generally, this kind of thing is done with one year in one semester, and another in the next. I've done it before, myself, mainly because I liked the class and it opened up more space for courses I wanted to take the next year. I'm not sure though if Chris would have done that, or even consider doing it.

Unfortunately (especially for the Spanish people), it IS possible Chris would have gotten into 4th year Spanish. Chris was never held back. The school seemed to just give him passing grades to get them out of their hair. I'm sure they would have let Chris take whatever classes he wanted because it wasn't worth fighting Borb over the issue. It's not like he was actually going to achieve much. I've seen similar crap with schools up here. We have kids in Chicago schools who are functionally illiterate, and kids who are in geometry who can't do basic multiplication without a calculator. Hell, I've seen kids who can't convert fractions to decimals (and seem genuinely baffled by the concept that .25 is equal to 1/4, for example), but in upper level maths. And these are people who are smarter and more ambitious than Chris!
Funny thing, at my old high school, any student with an IEP was likely to have been denied taking certain classes simply because they had an IEP. It happened to me a few times during my Freshman year and my mom had to fight the powers that be just to let me take a language class. Part of me sometimes wondered if the only reason I was passing language classes was because I thought the teachers wanted me out of their hair. Granted this wasn't actually the case, but when that kind of thing happens to you, that kind of doubt isn't entirely unjustified. It probably doesn't help when you hear people say hateful things like "IEP students only pass tests because the teachers fill in the correct answers for them".

It saddens me though that regardless of the means that enabled Chris to take X class is that he didn't try to take advantage of this and try to make a name for himself, maybe even indirectly make things better for other special ed students that teachers didn't believe in. He probably just fell asleep in class and read Goosebumps while pretending to read his textbook to avoid suspicion(And I can see Chris doing this exactly the way they did this kind of thing in cartoons, but I digress).

Actually, that one bothers me even more than his art or butchery of the Spanish language. He's saying that his brother is ugly. Okay, maybe he's trying to be funny, but Chris seems to be pretty callous towards the people he knows. What a little narcissist.
This is the guy who drew the other water boy for his old high school basketball team as looking horribly disfigured/infected with some kind of STD when he was actually reasonably good looking IRL.

Be that as it may, I would advise that you at least read my case from earlier in this post^

i know everyone likes to :alog: and wail about how much better they are than chris at everything ever but i'm embarrassed to admit i never made it to algebra 2. it took me like 3 years to complete algebra 1 and i only managed to graduate high school with my abysmal math grades and few credits because i cried a lot and the superintendent took pity on me. god bless the american education system for letting idiots like me and chris graduate. kudos for chris at being better at something than somebody, i guess? :sighduck:

Don't feel bad, knowing what we know about Chris. Chris probably suck at algebra and only made it to algebra 2 because the school didn't want a lawsuit from Boblax. As for me, I was somewhat decent at math but fucking suck at English. :c so we all have something that we suck at.

It's pretty common to offer photo retouching on senior photos, for a small extra fee of course. So it's possible that Chris' wasn't the one distorting reality in this case. Not exactly likely, but possible. The bigger crime there is potentially the anatomy of the right leg there where the hip has moved several inches down the leg for articulation.

I am aware of this; that's what I meant when I said "reasonably". Bottom line, Chris puts down others, even his own friends/acquaintances/whatever you want to call them just to make himself look good.

I can't be the only one who thinks that these drawings are of a better quality than what Chris churned out post-high school.
Well, he was happier then. He thinks being sad/stressed is an excuse to do poorer work, because if he can't punish the people who made him sad, he thinks it's okay to punish innocent people instead.

I really don't envy kids nowadays, because when they do stupid shit, it'll be on the internet. Forever.
Yeah, kids today have no chance to be forgiven when they fuck up. Ironically, because of his peculiar circumstances Chris is now a perfect example of that, despite having grown up before web 2.0.

This is why all my embarrassing childhood shit was only sent to one friend.

Nobody is going to point out the Presidential term calender indicating Clinton was leaving halfway through his second elected term when Slick Willy was really in office until January 2001 instead?

OK, then, I will.

HONOR ROLL! Sure, whatever you say there :stupid:.
Speaking of Slick Willy, I wonder what Chris was thinking when the whole Monica thing was going down. (No pun intended!) Did he feel admiration? Envy? Did he care? Did he notice?

Yeah, seriously. I'm a pretty okay guy now with a solid job, education, marriage, etc. Only because the dumb, indefensible crap I used to pull on a daily basis isn't archived somewhere on the internet. I was the worst.

More than likely he didn't notice. Too busy on the Pokeymans.
