oh i thought you believed in evolution

Oh I believe in it, I just don't like it. I mean, instead of theropods like Tyrannosaurus, Allosaurus and Velociraptor, we're stuck with bloody chickens today. Megalodon? Extinct. Andrewsarchus? Extinct. Kronosaurus? Extinct. And as far as human evolution, well just look at Chris. Hopefully natural selection will weed that out of gene pool because I'd be awfully depressed if that was where our species headed. Neanderthals were just so much cooler...

Besides, there are some cool creation myths (and eschatological myths too). The Mexica had an awesome pantheon...

The fact his art hasn't gotten even a little better over 16 years time (an amount of time that could see an artist go from children's scribbles to professional level, possibly with a few years to spare)
Well there's also the issue of talent. Art isn't just something you learn if given enough time. If you don't have artistic talent, then you could hack away at it for a million years and still not be any good.

even though his dream is to be a prestigious artist, even going so far as to suggest that he doesn't need to improve (something that you'll never hear from the mouth of a master tradesman), highlights his ego and lack of self-criticism.
Well, there are artists who have literally (by classical definition) mastered a particular technique or medium, and have every right to say so. But they don't just keep plugging away at it until they die. They move on to something new and different. I think someone mentioned Picasso. He's an excellent example of that.

Actually, if Chris marketed his art as Low Brow or Outsider Art, he could have a chance to do obscenely well in the underground gallery scene, even for just a little while. I wish I were lying but I have seen far worse, far more derivative garbage sell for thousands at shows, and we're not even talking like Lichtenstein or Warhol levels of competence.
This is a possibility with the exception that he would need someone extremely talented and experienced to market his work.

Maybe he was showing off? Like, "I know how to write in cursive" -> "Nobody else writes in cursive" -> "They must not know how" -> "I'm writing in cursive, LOOK AT ME I AM SMART"
Or even a simpler "They taught us cursive later, so it must be more advanced and better in all situations.

When I was in elementary school (The 90s), they taught us the entire cursive alphabet, but never expected us to use it afterward unless we were signing our names on something.
My mom was kind of like Barb and *she* was the one that made me write in cursive all the way through highschool. Granted I attempted to make it legible enough to read but I'm wondering if Barb or Bob were a driving factor in his writing cursive up through then. Like because they were old and thought it was 'proper'.

I wouldn't be surprised. Aside from all of his inherent problems, Chris was already at a disadvantage simply by having older parents. No, I'm not saying people who have kids later in life are irresponsible, or that having old parents automatically screws you up, but there are some pretty big disadvantages. They were literally from another era, and had a hard enough time keeping up for themselves, let alone raising another human being while doing it. It would explain a lot about why they didn't listen to Chris' teachers. They likely didn't even understand the concept of autism.

Of course, it doesn't help that Barb dressed Chrissun in those second hand striped rugby shirts either. She may as well have just put a big sticker saying "Hello, my name is: Retard, please kick me" on his chest. I'm sorry, but kids can be rotten little monsters, especially to anyone who is different, and lil' Chris definitely would have fit that bill. :(

On the subject of older parents;
Chris got the most, if not arguably all, of his worldview from his parents. Their age contributed to the skewing of his perceptions, I'm sure.

That would require them to take an interest in what their kid was doing

He really only parroted what his parents said. Chris' perceptions are skewed because he was raised on dollar bin movies, T.V., pokemon and blue hedgehogs.

As a history lover... and Fantasy Cartography hobbyist this makes me want to cry..

not normal tears.. heavy man tears.. so teary that you can not understand what im saying in between the sobs...

I would be so inconsolable that you would feel the need to come over and ask me if im okay but secretly you would feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed for me.. you may even stare for a bit your significant other would say "maybe we should go over and see if he is okay?" Than you would quickly tell them that its non of your business and have to leave...

those kind of tears...

And why please tell me why is (what i can only assume is hungry) taking a massive dump forming Africa? that actually looks more like a inverse south America.

and i also thought the help was a misplaced Iceland :(

You gotta love that when the presidents powers are lessened he becomes a hobo.

I think we're running a little dry on Chris-related discussion since the topic at hand keeps drifting away.

Has any scans of his math work been put up yet? Because I'm certain seeing fatty's attempts at basic algebra is going to involve raising numbers to the exponential powers of Sonichu all over the place.

i'm interested to see if Chris was actually decent at math, because I can not for the life of me imagine how his teachers could manage to rubberstamp his math homework. It's either right or wrong.

"160... 2...140.. whatever half of 360 is"

Pokemon was originally distributed in the US through syndication if I am remember correctly. I remember the local UPN affiliate having it while the local WB affiliate would also have it (not a part of their SUPER DUPER KIDS line up though).

I don't think it was on CN till about 2002-3, If remember right.
