I think this may be true and a sign of something that is essentially wrong and broken in the way Chris views relationships in general. If he sees interpersonal relations as being romantic (or tending toward a romantic involvement) then it makes sense why he simply cannot seem to establish a friendship without sexual overtones. And yes, it would explain his unease around males in general.
Well we know Barb would have haggled over training costs, and if she tried a charm offensive approach, it's not outrageous to describe it as "flirting". Or maybe Barb is a crazy old lady who still thinks she has got it and can use her feminine wiles to wheedle a good deal out of a guy. Or maybe you are right and Chris is an idiot.

But it does sound like a) Chris seems to care a decent amount about the dogs and b) he is willing to go to some time and expense to take care of them, or at least has the intion of doing it. Given that we seem to have reason to believe that they are somewhat neglected, I am inclined to blame Barb for that.

That is straight up stealing, but the Chandlers think they're justified because it escaped from its collar once? I would be beyond pissed if that were my dog they tried to take, especially given we know how inadequately they look after the two dogs they do own.

Well that look just says it all.

Damn you, Christian Weston Chandler.

Don't matter what your new handle is. You is Christian Weston Chandler; worst pet owner alive along with Barb.

So he doesn't really write in specifics about his pets, but here's an email shortly after Chris' first encounter with alcohol and telling his dad(who subsequently told Barb).

The thought of Bob being disappointed and upset over gas station food is the saddest shit. I wonder what other places were on his list of good places to eat other than Burger King.

From what I remember, they put up a fight to keep the dog and blamed the neighbor for being irresponsible. Basically, finders keepers. Neighbor still got their dog back. But Chris couldn't comprehend why it was wrong for them to try and keep the dog.
Well if there wasn't a sign on the dog saying that he couldn't be taken...

He thinks his dogs have wolf in them.... the fuck?
Clover_and_snoopy.jpg

Cuz these two definitely have wolf in them guys.

I love how he's like "yeah they growl, bite, jump on us...but really they're good behaving dogs"

4 years later apparently they can't leave the dogs by themselves or they tear up the house. Or they bring the dogs with them and leave them in the car.

The dogs are BORED.

It was said in the new cat thread, but Kiwifarms is a place where people mock autistic people for the fun of it, but as soon as there's a cute animal everyone d'aws like a bunch of 12 year old girls.
That's because animals acting like animals is often cute, but people acting like animals usually isn't.

As promised...a little bit about his dogs and their ill behavior.

Wait what.

In the wolf email he says he isn't going to make long journey plans until they have the dogs sorted and:

After we are able to see Christmas Day this year (12/22/2012 theory(ies)). I am concerned about that, yes (going to wait it out on the date inside).
So this is the absurd 2012 'End of the World' theory? I checked the Wiki and it turns out he actually did believe it and worried about it. He thanked God and Jesus on the 21st that it didn't happen.

This email is from October though. Did Chris really avoid making long journeys from October to Christmas because he thought the world might end?

Chris used any excuse to not do anything. Magfest is in January so he probably meant he didn't want to make any plans in case the world ended. Which doesn't make an sense, because why would it matter if the world ended prior to any plans.

It was a neighbour's cat, and it was put down.
Chris said it bit him or some shit.
Chris thinks the cat was put down. It probably just became an indoor cat to avoid further altercations. Cats don't get euthanized for scratching randos.

I'm sure he has an entire backstory that he imagined and now believes. Of course that backstory could change from time to time, but that doesn't matter to him. Chris's memory has vague boundaries.

It's not his memory that has vague boundaries, it's his beliefs that have extremely blurred and skewed boundaries. Chris does have a terrible memory, but he probably wanted to believe that poor cat was put down because no one touches a dying hair on Pristine Christine's head (royalty) and gets away with it. In Chris' mind, as long he says it, it's a real thing. The things that Chris usually believes in though, are skewed to the benefit of his ego.
"I was a lesbian in a past life"
"I am a descendant of royalty"
"I am a hot and setsy lady"
"My True Sweetheart Lesbian Lover for Life is just waiting for me out there somewhere to trib into the sunset"

What do you think he would do if Lucy or Sorbet tried to bite or scratch him? From what he's posted on FB it seems like he's attached to those two cats and cares about them- but is that just something he does to LOOK good and normal to the public?

We've seen how the cats are around Chris; one of those cats has definitely scratched him at some point. With his absurd pain tolerance, he probably just brushed it off as a kitty being a kitty.

Even so, if something major happened with those animals, like the dog or cat managed to bight off Chris' ear, he would probably just stress sigh and be glad he has the other one intact. Chris reacted angrily because someone else's cat scratched him, his ego was damaged more than his body. Chris has shown that the animals he owns are given blind tolerance because they belong to both he and mudder, dear.

I wonder how much of that is wishful thinking powered heavily by his autism and how much of it is actual delusion. I suspect it's a mixture of both and odds are it depends on his state of mind. For all he goes on about being a sexy lesbian, in emails he has admitted that his face is scary, for example.
I also suspect there is a measure of 'omnipotence of thoughts' involved, it tends to be an infantile trait but we know Chris is a child in many ways.

As for his memory, Chris ret-conned traumatic events of his past into being favorable to him via Sonichu. I don't think he completely believes in these fantasies but even normal people often embellish negative memories so it wouldn't surprise me if some amount of that has bled into his awareness.

The thing is though, that poor Chris was not really that ugly until he got deeper into the Tomgirl BS relic of failure. I don't know what it is, but it's like as soon as he put on a skirt and bad make-up he started to get older, fatter, and weirder looking. Like I said, I think Chris wants to believe these things are true and with his badly wired brain, there's enough elbow room for Chris to see himself as a lovely lesbian. I feel like, the way he dresses (5 year old, old lady, teenage prostitute) is very similar to the way some children act or behave. Sometimes they like to wear certain articles of clothing because they like the way it looks, because they believe it makes them look good, or because they simply like the way it flows. Thankfully, children don't have the ravages of old age along with puberty and adulthood to prove them wrong. I think Chris might have a clue that the way he dresses is highly inappropriate, but it's his only way to deal with things he can't control or understand.

@LoveYouLongTime has Chris ever divulged why his parents wanted to have children so late in their life? Mainly asking out of curiosity.
I was doing research for a class and learned that conceiving in old age (mainly if the father is older) has a higher chance of the child developing autism (along with a ton of other genetic abnormalities, but autism stuck out for obvious reasons). Wouldn't be surprised if that was a main factor in Chris developing it since his folks were way past their prime when they conceived him. Like were they just naive and really wanted a kid together? Or was it not well known in the 80s...? Either way it's still pretty abnormal to see a couple in their 50s/60s having a child.

You are giving Borb too much credit. They were two hicks who met in a bar. Bob was drunk and Barb was in heat (and probably also drunk). Chris was most likely an accident.

I think you're giving Chris too much credit. I believe we can all agree that, if there's one thing Chris lacks is self awareness. Regarding his personal attire, I believe the reason for Chris's "Peculiar look" is his awful taste; simple as that. If we take a quick look at the way Chris has dressed over the years we can find that, even though he keeps changing his style, he remains constant in aesthetics. In other words: Look at how he has dressed all the time; the guy used to wear clown shirts well into his 20's. Heck, he even cosplayed as Ash Ketchum and went out looking like that.

I do, however, agree with you in terms of his childish mindset. He really does mold the world around him as if he was 10 years old.
