Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

First episode was good, had great hooks and some unique stuff.
Nah, it's always been laughably bad. The faces that angels had made me rolling under the table, it looked like when children draw in their textbooks. Then the whole interdimensional pedobear thing. The cop comes to the crime scene (alone, but ok) to take pictures(which forensics do, but ok), gets too scared and doesn't feel like taking pictures anymore, asks to leave and his higher-up is like "oooooh, fiiiiine"(fuck, if only I had that benefit at any of the jobs I've ever had). Then some guy puts a device that takes pictures every minute. Why? The crime has already happened, the only reason for him to do this was that he knew something will appear on those pictures. And then interdimensional pedobear shows them how that woman killed herself, because... They didn't know already? None of this makes sense. Just like leaving a TV on for a toddler, who can only eat, sleep and poop.

Shit on me all you want, but this really feels like Yandere Simulator situation. Talentless hack made something that's really not impressive and stupid in the end of the day, but it gets boosted by big players in the YT community (PewDaJew and that other fag with funny hair for YS, Valiumgoon and Yawnxpo for MC) and suddenly everyone treats it like it's the second coming of horror. Inevitably the cracks will appear in the facade and I hope people will look back and treat it like Sanec.exe or PeetTheCoomer or whatever the fuck his name was. I just hope that the creator won't end up as another degenerate, we have enough of those already.

What is everyone’s favorite lost media? Lately I love seeing game collectors seethe when an unreleased or rare rom gets dumped online. I commend people who pretend to repair rare cabinets and just steal the rom it always makes me lol
So this case is interesting because literally no one has heard about this thing's existence up until the creators posted an old VHS showcase about it on YouTube, but Magic Castle.
An indie Net Yaroze PSX game made back in 1998 by a (now defunct? still existing?) gaming studio called KAIGA. The game was designed like a rougelite having you go through room to room defeating enemies and leveling up and getting better equipment as you go along ala Realm of the Mad God or Binding of Isaac.

And for a while this was all that remained of this game's existence until Pirowo (one of the developers behind Magic Castle) got their hands on an old PC that still had the source code behind MC. And with the help of some people they got into contact with, finished the game and made it available as a ROM for download on Archive.org. You can browse the different versions listed on this page here from NetYaroze.com if you want to check out when it may update (though considering the last version came out on May 2021, I wouldn't be so antsy on waiting for an update to come out): http://netyaroze.com/Media/Downloads

It's certainly an interesting game from what I've played and seen, and the music is honestly a banger (This acoustic guitar song being one of my favorites):

But Magic Castle is so interesting to me because it's a stark reminder of what sort of works and creations people have made out there that have yet to see the light of day. That they tried to pitch to some studio or publisher to make it available for the public to see, only to have complications and an eventual fallout that makes it so that projects get shelved and never get the chance to shine in the spotlight.

If you're bored and want to play some interesting old vidya one day, I suggest booting this up on an emulator and having a go at it yourself and see if you like it.

Not sure if he's already been discussed, but Disturbed Reality seems like a pretty good content creator in that niche of describing gore videos and torture crimes. Unlike that faggot PlaguedMoth he takes the subject matter pretty seriously, he doesn't treat it like some cool edgy thing. He also actually goes into effort to not only discuss the video or event, but the context and history of it. One video I watched recently he was discussing a Cartel beheading video from Venezuela, however he spent a good half or more of the video explaining the history of venezuelan organized crime, and the context of the video, before actually delving into the video and his thoughts on it, interesting stuff.

night mind has a fursona v-tuber thing on his streams of some kind of rabbit demon??? has he always had that? another one unsubbed from.
Its starting to feel more like the ones who turn out to be furries are into these kind of stories for nefarious reasons to me, could just be me but after the zoosadist stuff I cant see furries as anything other than sadistic freaks.

People still do it, but the vast majority of people who get popular for creative shit are really weak willed and unable to stand up for themselves, its why we see countless stories of people cucking their own content or having breakdowns because of internet hate.
I have this opinion that the worst thing the internet has ever done is let people who were never built for popularity get popular over night, because it always ends with that person becoming a shell of their former selves.
idk the people who actually embrace controversy is such a small minority you can probably count them on one hand

No. The tapes have never been released to the public and most likely would remain that way. There are scams going around on rhe internet that claim they have the authentic tape and are selling tape recorders for around $40k.

However, transcripts of those tapes do exost and have been made public for some time now.

Since we're on the topic of lost media, I'll go ahead and share this interesting little thing I found. It's not exactly horror-related (maybe mildly), and well, it's not actually "lost" media either, but it's still very intriguing.

I stumbled upon this on /tv/ a couple of days ago:
I unearthed a vid the FBI suppressed in 1999 (thread 1 archive)
I unearthed a vid the FBI suppressed in 1999 (thread 2 archive)

OP of the thread(s):
I unearthed a vid the FBI suppressed in 1999
which purported to show US military plans to start a race riot in Manhattan in order to usher in a military occupation of the island.

It was a found-footage hoax in the style of The Blair Witch Project.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CViJiDDSjJQ

This video, which depicts a fake US military plot to use race division to implement martial law was really suppressed by the FBI. I stumbled upon the story in my research but was frustrated that I couldn't find the video online anywhere. The fact the FBI suppressed it made me suspicious, and I had to search old forums dedicated to preserving suppressed information, then download software and screen record the result to post it.

Here's an archive of a NYT article from 1999 about the situation

The filmmaker sued the FBI for the pressure they put on him to remove the video. Look around for more information if you're interested. What's interesting to me is the trouble I had to go through to find this video... it was nowhere online. Seems to me like a landmark piece of history in regards to internet censorship

The OP of the thread seems... odd. Some anons were accusing him of being a shill trying to kickstart some kind of ARG, and others just called him a schizo. But most anons obviously just didn't bother actually reading the post at all. The average 4channer's low attention span and inability to understand the simplest of concepts never ceases to amaze me.

In any case, here's the QRD:
Is there going to be a Military Takeover of New York City on New Years Eve 1999?
I don't know too much about this tape you are about to see. I got it from my cousin Steve who's in the army.
He said that copies of this tape are floating around the base, and nobody knows who made it.
If it's fake, then there's nothing to worry about. If it's real, then we're in really big trouble.
  • The movie consists of footage of Times Square, while an unseen military officer (who is recording the footage) is heard briefing his subordinates on their upcoming tasks. Their task is to basically go undercover in Times Square on New Year's Eve '99, mingle among various groups and agitate them, leading them to commit racially-motivated crimes and start riots. The goal of this supposed false-flag operation is to allow the armed forced to take over New York and to declare martial law.
  • After the movie was released on the filmmaker's site (www.crowdedtheater.com), and after a segment about it was broadcast on TV, the actual FBI showed up and tried to suppress it.
  • According to Zieper, federal agents talked with him and asked him to remove the video. He told them to basically talk to his lawyer. Instead, the FBI, along with someone from the US Attorney's Office, contacted Mark Wieger - Zieper's web host - and asked him to take down Zieper's site, or else they'd contact the business that leases computer space on the Internet for him and ask them to take down the site instead (all this sounds familiar to anyone else? lol).
  • Afraid of his business getting messed with (and for his own well-being), Wieger agreed to block access to the video. He was later made to delete not just the video, but the whole site of his client.
  • Some time later, after they realized they weren't going to be arrested, Zieper and Wieger brought back the site and the video, albeit now with disclaimers that it's a work of fiction. I do not know if the government made any other move to further suppress the content, but the site is now defunct.
  • The two later filed a lawsuit against the FBI agents and USAO attorneys for violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights, with the assistance of the ACLU.
  • The judge ruled that their First Amendment rights were indeed violated, but ultimately dismissed the case on the ground of motherfucking qualified immunity...
The thread's OP said that he managed to find the obscure movie after much digging, and has uploaded it on his Youtube channel.
Angelfire link where OP found the movie (it's a .ram video file and the quality is awful, but VLC should be able to play it).

OP (or someone pretending to be him?) went full-on schizoposting towards the end of the thread, but the story in and of itself is very interesting, especially considering that it happened in a pre-9/11 world. Too bad the actual "movie" that all this is about is actually pretty trash lmao.

Lost Media Wiki is a great resource but I avoid everything but the articles to keep my sanity - I still remember them losing their minds about that Sesame Street episode being found like someone was going to blame them for it leaking.

Also the real Chubbuck audio is out there, I'm pretty sure LMW doesn't have the link but if you search it leaked in the past year or so and it's clearly real, I think it's a recording of police (?) watching a tape. Their tendency to label so many things NSFL is kind of funny.

I remember when the Sesame Street episode was found I was pretty shocked and the fallout of the LMW twitter account saying they aren't going to link the episode because it was leaked without permission.

I interrupt your discussion about Lost Media to bring you a double dose of Disturban. No essays, however.

First story, taking place in the UK; some psychotic kid murdered his girlfriend because she DARED to break up with him after he became a possessive piece of shit, even trying to fuck up her academic pursuits.

One part that gets to me is the report from the father discovering his daughter's corpse. That was truly heartbreaking. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

The parents of the victim campaigned for tougher punishments for teens who commit gruesome crimes and it was apparently successful. Now if only, someone would campaign against the stupid UK law that protects kiddie diddlers. I know, I keep harping on about it but it's just so ass-backward and I struggle to see why no one has kicked the door down to Parliament and has told the fuckers there to do so something about it.

Anyway, second story and a return to form for Distuban in regards to the title, hot damn. We're in Poland this time. Sorry to all Polish people but I hear the country is bit of a shithole. The story of some sod hating his deadbeat dad so much that he murdered him in some fucked up, insane way.

I get hating your shitty dad but murdering him, cutting his head off and skinning said head to make a flesh mask, then wearing said mask and clothes and everything is beyond demented. You lost every ounce of sympathy, any sane person would have for you.

Apparently, he called the murder a "work of art" and was inspired by the movie Seven. What the fuck...

Most of them aren't sadists but a hefty proportion are coomer tier fetishists who adopt it as part of their personality. If they try to fight you on this "stigma" then they are one. Now, the fandom does keep covering for the zoosadists and ilk because they make them look even worse, which at least makes a lot of them complicit. Not entirely sure where NM lies but I could guesn in night minds case I think he lies more on the side of loner nerd who attached himself to this group to have "friends" quote unquote.

Hearing this shit about the Mandela catalog is groan worthy. Horror is supposed to be “problematic.” There’s a difference between a Stephen King underaged gang bang and using suicide as an element of horror. You can be shocking with problematic elements and it’s clear the Mandela catalog wasn’t doing anything too crazy referencing suicide.
Anyways glad I never liked le spooky face catalog in the first place.
Exactly, horror as a genre exists so you have a (god i hate this phrase) safe space to explore troubling ideas/scenarios. Horror is supposed to stay with you, it's supposed to trigger something in you. It's supposed to face and explore, 'problematic' ideas.

I listen to a lot of horror podcasts and over the past few years a few of them have gone out of their way to provide trigger warnings at the beginnings of each episode to the point where some of the warnings were spoilery.

What's that? You're horror podcast might trigger some negative feelings and reactions? Gosh and here I thought the last story of a possessed fetus eating its way out of it's mother was just peachy.

Which is why trigger warnings for horror content can blow me.

It was explained earlier to me in the thread that it's saving retards from themselves and removing liability because even people with heart conditions watch horror content and may die or they get upset at a lack of trigger warnings.

I still find it wholly needless. Like, at some point, people gotta take personal responsibility for the shit they consume and curate their viewing.

What do people expect when they watch horror content? It's going to be disturbing of course, you dolts.

His video about the Indonesian girl who was raped and impaled with a garden hoe legit made me loose sleep. He was not kidding when he said not to google it. The crime scene photos are readily available on google images and Christ almighty they are disturbing. What's even more fucked up is apparently it became a meme of sorts to with people reenacting the crime scene for laughs. The fuck man?

Yeah, I saw it. Shit was just a display of the worst of humanity. It's quite terrifying that people can be so callous in regards to human life.

The case from Poland in my post also had images readily available of that skin mask and the crime scene photos and that kept me up at night because of how senseless it was.
