I'm sick of evidence used for a true crime case such as video or audio being called "lost media." These things were not made for public consumption and wanting them released is disrespectful to the victim and their remaining family.

I am very big into lost media. I think the idea of a movie being made, with hundreds of people working on it, just being gone is kind of freaky and interesting. Lost Media does not have to inherently be scary, but it should have some value beyond just being "lost." Some nobody's scrapped art project is not lost media. A completed film or song is.

That's true and I'm being a hypocrite arguing against release if I'm being honest. I've taken the time to listen to some of David Parker Ray's tape after it was released via the FOIA act. Then again the tape is only his voice explaining to victims what his intent was and does not include any audio from a victim making it a grey area in a way.
Not to mention the preservation of 9/11 recordings is important but does contain victims of terrorism? I guess due to it being a historical event, in public, etc the circumstances are a little different. I'm getting off topic now.

TLDR: Abusive manipulator abuses kids in her care and convinces them Billy Joel talks to her on the phone and threatens to send the Mob after them. Joel has not made a public statement about the case as far as I'm aware and the murderer passed away in prison.

I hate to admit it but I'd kill for Nick Crowley to cover it in his overly dramatic video style.

The Word of Faith has a YouTube channel where they try to smear anyone who gives them negative attention and/or leaves their organization.

There is true crime channels that have shown some of the intro to it. I think I might have heard a channel where some of the audio of it was played but I don't remember the channel's name and there is a ton that have covered the story.

David Parker Ray's audio is released and available on Internet archive. You basically summed it up that it's actually extremely dull and he reads out his plans in a matter of fact way. Prior podcasts would overdramatize their narration due to how harrowing the content is. Meanwhile the actual audio he's narrating it like some grocery list it's really weird.
