It's because the guys who make the claim that women don't want or like sex either can't get laid or can't get a woman off when they do finally get their dicks wet. Naturally, taking responsibility for their own shortcomings would shatter their fragile egos, so it must be the women's faults.

I do think that the media plays a big part in it. Similar to how Chris Chan believes in the "third date" rule as a rigid reality that the world abides by, these guys see females sighing because their "hurr hurr meathead" boyfriend cheated on them as they gaze out to the sky wondering where all the good men are. They react to that by donning a persona that they believe is God's gift to women, and the answer to the exaggerated yearning of fictional females everywhere.

I don't think it's that first point at all, most of these nice guys actually hate feminists, sometimes even normal women in general that they lump in with feminists when they reject them.

Now I don't think that the girl next door who has her heart broken by too many evil men is a thing that happens as often as these guys seem to think. I think that they observe their dream girl going through the normal process of dating in high school, which usually involves short relationships and dramatic breakups because... High school, and fit it into their narrative of the nice guy standing by watching his perfect angel get her heart level shattered by cruel men.

Yeah, but what'd the stimulus be for switching them back and forth? We want it to be self-sufficient, so no 'introducing girls and then having them state they have a boyfriend'.
