I had a nightmare last night that I was standing in my living room and heard a tapping at the window. I look over and see the torso of a man in the window. He's so tall I can't see his head, which given how big the windows are puts him at over 10 feet tall. He's tapping on the window to get the attention of my cat. Then I'm in bed with my husband sleeping, but it's day time because I can see sun from behind the curtain, and I hear the tapping again just like before. So I start to try to shake my husband awake to tell him someone is trying to get into the apartment, but he won't wake up no matter how much I scream and shake him.
And then I wake up, and it's dark, my husband is asleep, there is no tapping at the window, and the cat's asleep in his bed. It took me awhile to realize that I was really awake. I hate it when that happens. Really tapping isn't scary at all, but it was the feeling in the dream of dread that I had that made it so scary.
