I genuinely don't know if he has HPD (histrionic personality disorder). I'm no mental illness expert, but his actions exhibit several of the symptoms. It's not really caring, but Latino culture in general is less pretentious about ribbing people with their physical characteristics than Anglo culture. Insinuating somebody is fat is not an insult like it would be here in the states - it's more of a physical descriptor like calling somebody with brown hair, a "brunette".
