There's a lot about this situation to be critical of and mock, but I'm fairly uneasy with people questioning her claiming to have been raped. No one is really entitled to her story, and I hope no one is actually fucking pressing her to spill the details of an event that was apparently traumatic to her and completely unrelated to the stupid drama she's wrapped up in. she's very into being a wealthy Beverly Hills housewife and would lie about how much money she and her fiancé had by pretending to own cars they were actually leasing, hinting that her fiancé was a big business man when in reality he sold watches, and she seems to have lied to her mom about being accepted into Harvard.

they also don't like that she used to talk about true crime whilst eating massive portions of food, saying it was "disrespectful to the victims." all their hate toward her really is petty, but their conspiracies are entertaining. plus it does kinda make you wonder what Nik has on her that she went to these sodium filled extremes to shut him up, who knows, she might be a future cow.

edit: here is a comment (#154) that lists their reasoning for being on niks side, also brings up the up skirt thing from my earlier post, apparently she was also mocking Nik in the tags of her video. they make their bitterness toward her very obvious, painting Nik as the victim as he didn't bring this upon himself by being a creepy drama queen.

All this speculation about whether Stephanie Soo is a liar or master manipulator or whatever is boring. If she's an unhinged mess who can compete with Nik's insanity then by all means give her a thread. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she doesn't seem to have any notable history of drama besides this, at least not notable enough for a thread on KF. If she's told major lies or scammed anyone then archive and share the evidence. If she's telling the truth and she was assaulted in her own home in the past that's terrible and she needs to seek out proper therapy. If she wants security cameras in her house that's fine, but they're ultimately not the solution to her paranoia. Stephanie is a slender young woman with long hair, clear skin, money, and a big shiny engagement ring. Scheming and evil or not, collabing with Nik was a bad idea. Anyone who collabs with a doughy faced grease ball who admitted to traveling so he could sample interesting foreign foods cheat to the point of getting chlamydia and passing it onto his husband is a re.tard. • I don't follow mukbangs so I have no idea who Veronica is or what happened between Stephanie and Veronica but apparently something happened and NA wanted to talk about it. SS did not. Something may have happened between NA and Veronica as well, I'm not sure.
• NA was set to film three videos with SS, the first one being at her house. He gaslighted her on camera, making it look like she had agreed to talk about Veronica. NA's behavior made her increasingly uncomfortable.
• She backed out of the third collab video and he sent her text messages guilt tripping and manipulating her and trying to get her to talk in private (she insisted on keeping their correspondence in a group chat with the other mukbanger they were collabing with)
• She was polite but didn't give in; NA then subtly threatened to "expose" and destroy her
• NA didn't publicly "expose" SS (because there's nothing to expose) but he continued to gaslight by posting IG stories with friends (other mukbangers) making fun of her
• SS points out that her home security cameras show that when she went to the bathroom NA whipped out his camera and started taking pictures of her house and looking all around, presumably noting where her security cameras were. She did NOT show this footage in her video however, noting that California is a two-party consent state.
• At the end of the video she inserts clips of a deleted NA video where he mocks the MeToo movement. SS was a victim of sexual assault in her own home.

What makes this takedown notable is how well she is able to articulate his narcissistic abuse. Aside from that not much happened tbh

One could argue that if you are taking pictures of security cameras you are consenting to being recorded.

I've not watched her video, but people were talking about her being assaulted in her own home? It makes complete sense for her to have a security system.

But I'm skeptical of her saying she won't release the footage due to California's two party consent laws. IANAL, but the law seems more focused on recording in public spaces or recording private or confidential conversations without both parties being aware. A home security camera located in a common area of one's home isn't that. Nik was at her house for the purpose of recording a video anyway, and if he snooped and found a camera in the whole 2 minutes she was in the bathroom and he stayed, I would view that as consent. Like, what kind of backward ass law would say a homeowner couldn't record inside their own home and say, someone broke in. How would that video not be admissible in court? The burglar can't just be like 'hey, I wouldn't have agreed to being filmed!' and get off. Or maybe they could, idk. I'm no legal fag. But in my experience in another state, law enforcement loves it when they have video proof.

California has a two party consent law, which means that any kind of recording whether audio or video, all parties have to be aware it's happening. I can definitely say that if you are invited into someone's house and recorded without your knowledge that is illegal. The thing is with let's say a burglar breaking into your home, the footage is fair game because they have no consent to be in your home to begin with. There is no obligation to inform a party, it's waived by the party breaking the law to get into your home. Also in most public places such as stores and such you are always informed by signs that say there are cameras watching you, this is also done at a lot of private homes/businesses too.

Is it really a complicated concept? Like a lot of awful things, sexual assault is frequently committed by someone the victim knew and trusted. I've known more than one person with a story along the lines of letting a friend crash on their couch for the night and waking up to the "friend" taking off their pants or already further along. It's not always obvious that someone is actually a shitbag.

If Stephanie really was assaulted in her own home, it's understandable that she'd be more keen on having cameras rolling even while she's home.
