It's going to get worse, the Illumination mario movie is coming out and they've licensed some very annoying pop songs.

Expect the characters in the movie to sing because they hired all new VAs.
Reminds me that people like Andrew Dobson(currently MIA) bitched how his games in videogames would be problametic when used in a movie.
Like there is not a single person out there who does not know how he sounds like.

Which ones?
I'm going to preemptively assume at least half of them are in that "genre" where it's a black guy overemphasizing every lyric while some movie sound effect designer masturbates in the background.

How does criticizing Nintendo make you white and an "alm" supporter?

Speaking of which, how much is 1, 2, Switch down to, anyway? Surely it's gotta be like five bucks by now.
Nintendo games tend to hold their value. I'm guessing it's an artificial scarcity thing, combined with gen-x and the collectors market.

If you want to see games inflate in price, look at weeb games.

Yeah the reason they keep such high price tags is because of how well they sell, Mario Kart Wii was still selling a large amount of units in 2019 despite Nintendo having long abandoned the Wii and already having Mario Kart 8 out at that point.

Also from my experience a lot of weeb shit tends to go on sale fairly frequently, might be because no one's buying them but WItcher 3 still goes on sale often so idk.

When it comes to game collecting/selling, there's a small list of games called "evergreen titles". These are games that, regardless of when you're selling it, will garner a good price & sell relatively quick. The reasons vary, but are normally the game being considered:
  • A console defining game (Sonic 1-3 for Genesis, Mario 1-3 for NES, Final Fantasy 7 for PS1, etc.)
  • A small, "underground" hit that was overlooked during its lifespan ("Hidden Gems" are what they are normally called.)
The exact games depend on the system, but when it comes to Nintendo the evergreen titles can be boiled down to:
  • Anything Mario
  • Anything Zelda
  • Anything Pokémon
The reason these sell so well is due to the buyer being one of two things:
  1. People who had the system that are now nostalgic and are most likely to have played them.
  2. New collectors who want to either jumpstart their collection or have the best games for a system, since they're closely linked to the consoles history/image.

Your post reminded me that Diamond Trust of London exists. Cool game, cooler music system.

I remember when that game first came out. I thought it was pretentious. Hyped as some important, meaningful game before Gone Home had kicked off the whole walking simulator craze. Though according to wikipedia, Dear Escher and Braid were already out. I remember it was sold only by mailing money to the developer directly. I don't recall hearing about the gameplay much, and even now I only hear of it as a collectors item.

I played a rom of Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ on the DS as a kid and I looked up how much it would cost to get a physical copy only to find it goes for like £200 now because some nostalgiafag called it a ~hidden gem~ in a YouTube video.

I bought one from the guy and have played it a reasonable amount. It's a pretty good game if you like games of deception.

He still has some copies according to his website.

I mean, with God as my witness, have you seen the prices for those Mario Galaxy OST discs?

And I'm pretty sure that's the one out the few methods to reliably listen to music (minus risky click downloads on obscure sites) without YouTube.
Why would Nintendo include a CD in their Wii bundles when the Wii can't play CDs or DVDs? That doesn't make sense.

Why did Nintendo:
  • Release an instructional DVD on how to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 alongside the game?
  • Release a soundtrack CD for Super Mario All-Stars with 20 tracks, half of them literally just the sound effects by themselves?
  • Release a two-disc soundtrack CD as a bonus to anyone who bought both versions of Smash Bros. 4 at launch, only to exclude music from the Earthbound series but include tracks from Nintendogs?
  • And while I'm at it, why can't you use Bluetooth headphones with a Switch, but you can use a USB bluetooth dongle as a workaround?

Nintendo has lost it's share of common sense, quite a while ago.
