Nintendo Switch 2 (WIP) - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

Well, the trailer is an audio delight and the improvements are appreciated but Im sure many share the sentiment that we need more before drawing any conclusions.

Its still a bit too similar to the original tho...hopefully we aint heading for a WiiU situation again.

What's the difference between this and the OG Switch?

It basically looks the same.

It looks like one of those modded Nintendo Switches that make it bigger and function a bit better.
If you actually watched the trailer, there's some kind of Venom symbiote/T-1000 liquid nanobot sludge that lives on the controller and shapeshifts into different ports and buttons and things.

"WE ARE SWITCH!"

So what games you all think this thing is launching with. We know Mario Kart, but think do you think they will double up and throw a 3D Mario on there as well for launch?

i tried to think of first-party games on the switch 2 that i would get excited about and was only reminded of how by and large underwhelming they were on switch 1. or switch x now. idk. point is i'm not excited for more odyssey or totk or fucking POKEMON or the direction they went in with things like pikmin and luigi's mansion. the only real exception is fire emblem and that's mostly because of my own profound mental illness and retardation. other than that yeah man i want, uh, astral chain 2? i guess? i want to see if they can make that POKEMON legends game any better than palworld, but not enough to actually buy it

I'll probably hold off for a long while if we even get one. First switch has become a glorified arcade machine just so I can play my M2 ports of old shooters and I can't really justify buying what will probably be barely much of an upgrade knowing Nintendo, especially after buying a steamdeck recently.

Nice that you can still use your older physical games on it, but is there any word if once again all digital downloads from Switch 1 carries over to Switch 2 or is Nintendo once again glassing the digital earth?

So we know there's at least a new Mario Kart coming. Supposedly this will get version of dumbed down versions FF7 remake and rebirth, metaphor, and MasterChef collection. The only reason to get nintendo is there first party crap honestly. Wish they would do the smart thing and port to PC.

It would be nice but why bother porting to PC when you are selling 100+ million consoles. Granted I don’t think Switch 2 will do as well, COVID and lockdowns were a huge part of the switches lasting success. Animal crossing hitting at just the right time also played a big part.

Pretty sure they confirmed NSO will be carried over, so would assume that means digital downloads unless they cannot work apparently going by the end of the trailer. I highly doubt there will be much of anything not able to be carried over. Main guess is that LABO gets the boot and is the main game series not able to be played on Switch 2.

Why do people want soy souls on everything
Of all the modern, 3d action-adventure RPG type games I've tried in the last 10 years or so the first Dark Souls is the only one I've found so far that's actually challenging and provides a real feeling of exploration and adventure as you work your way through a strange fucked up threatening world and honestly the multiplayer is cool as fuck and I've still never really played anything else quite like it.
