Did you read the article you linked?

The issue is that Switch 2 is a “hot seller” but expectations is that it would “well” outperform the Switch and the Wii at the same time is unrealistic.

Sorry but per the article you linked yourself, Nintendo isn’t doomed, the Switch 2 is selling very well, and Doug Bowser or any executive retiring at the end of the year around the age of 65 is not a surprise at all. Most executives would kill to end their career on as high a note as Bowser.
Funny you claim I didn't read the article when you take a line from the beginning that somehow means things are AOK (missed the nice big "However" in what you quoted). If you read further, you'd see she changed her stance from buy to neutral because she doesn't expect it to sell as well as the Switch or the Wii.

Mind you, analyst were saying this thing was going to be sold out for months and it hasn't been. Point is, you can look at the stock and see its coming down off its highs and you have analyst going from overly bullish to neutral on it within only a few months.
See ya’ll boys in a couple of months when Nintendo mops up the holiday sales
Account called "Nintendo Prime" thinks the Nintendo console is going to sell well. I must say, I'm surprised.

It took slightly more than 4 years between Maker 2 and Wonder, that puts it around 2027 if they rush to make a release date. I haven't brought a Switch 2 because it doesn't have enough that I want at the price that its at but we also do know the makeup of Nintendo's internal teams and most of them only work as the primary dev on one or two series, its not that hard to fill in the timeline with titles, especially since Nintendo doesn't like announcing stuff early these days.
Mario Maker 2 was built using pre existing assets like the New Super Mario games. I could see Mario Maker 3 coming out in 2027 that introduces elements from Mario Wonder. I think a whole new 2D Mario is very wishful thinking, and I think Nintendo themselves are signaling this by releasing a Switch 2 edition of Wonder.

Maker and NSMB (including Wonder( are sister series, made by the same team. They've alternated for the past decade... sort of... so I think Maker 3 comes next. Of course, Maker 2 was a somewhat disappointing release in both sales and fan reaction so maybe its on ice now. I think its a nice change of pace though, "semi-annualization" really started to hurt NSMB after the first three games.

They may have been made by the same team, but work on Wonder started before Maker 2 came out.
Regardless, the idea of a new Mario in 2027 is still pure speculation on your part. Past release schedules don't dictate future ones and your "muh stuff in the pipeline" post is blisteringly retarded.

That'd probably mean no 3D Mario for 2026 then... I hope that's not the case.
Mein fucking neger, the Odyssey team just released DK Bananza. Unless they've been doing double duty (which I highly doubt), no shit there's not going to be a 3D Mario in the foreseeable future.

No, don't you see, they totally could create a 3D Mario game in just 14 months, release history doesn't mean anything.

The historic trends of Nintendo consoles (note to retards ITT: there are exceptions but the GENERAL TREND) are the following:
1. Nintendo sells less consoles with every generation.
2. If the previous console was a big success, the successor is a huge failure.
I understand the trend of Nintendo's sales, but the Switch 2 is going to have a killer holiday season for one reason nobody here has mentioned.

THERE'S NO FUCKING COMPETITION.

Seriously, what is the competition for parents to buy for their kids this year for Christmas? There's nothing else. The PS5 has been out for years. GTA6 doesn't come out for months. Even as a Nintendo Switch 2 Hater, this thing is running for office completely unopposed. Parents will braindead buy this for their kids because big present regardless of whether they ask for it or not because there's simply nothing else to get for them. There's no big thing this holiday season outside of the Switch 2. Face it, Bowser is going ride off into the sunset with two giant bags of money.

You're 100% right. People just don't understand basic math. You see in the past 35 years, they've put out seven F-zero games. We can deduce from this that on average an F-Zero game comes out once every five years. Because F-zero 99 came out in 2023, a new F-zero is most likely coming out for Switch 2 in 2028, so we have that to look forward to. <------ Literally your posts

They stopped making F-Zero games in the late 90s, the ones that came out after that were made by Sega at a team that doesn't exist anymore.

Holy shit, I'm arguing with a retard.

We're not arguing at all. I agree with you 100%. If Wonder came out four years after Mario Maker 2 and the same team made both, that means a new 2D Mario is likely exactly four years after wonder. That's how video game development works. Everything is released in pre-determined patterns.

I can see Sony doing a PS5 bundle meant to entice adults (and kids let's be real) for GTA 6 coming out last year. Even if it doesn't come out for months, Christmas will be the last major sale before it. Sony will just hype up the pro for peak performance and lower the prices of these bundles to a reasonable price point that it looks like a great machine for movies, kid games (astro bot), and adult games like FIFA and GTA 6. Xbox is dead.

Switch and Switch 2 are handhelds, not home consoles. They abandoned the home console market for this very reason, made a handheld that hooks up the the TV and called it a "hybird". Nintendo's handhelds have not been following the same general downward trend.
They still follow the trend, just less devastating in sales. GameBoy did extremely well while GBA had a decent sized drop-off, and the trend continued with DS and 3DS.

If you follow the pattern from Switch, they released Deluxe versions of Wii U games as a stop gap while they worked on new shit. Given that, I think it's going to be a while before there is a new 3D Zelda, 2D Mario, Mario Party or mainline Kirby as they rereleased all those games with some new content for Switch 2. I could be wrong, though.
3D Zelda is certainly a long ways off, likely not even going to appear till 2028-2029.

2D Mario is likely if for no other reason than having something around the movie. I doubt 3D Mario is close, so this would be the best outcome.

Could honestly see the others being next year. The Switch 2 versions of games didn't actually add that significant amount of content and Mario Party and Kirby are known for quick development. Seriously, new Kirby titles were being shat out at a bi-yearly pace for a good while. The longest time between mainline games has been 4 years, so its due for a new one. Mario Party also seems to work off a weird 2-3 year schedule, so if not next year, it will be 2027.

THERE'S NO FUCKING COMPETITION.
This only matters if kids have any interest in the console. I think this is where things might bite Ninty in the ass. Most of their consumers are now 20+ years old. The entire video game market for under 20 is now being relegated to Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft. Would be better to get the kids Robux and V-Bucks than pay Nintendo $500 for a console that plays two of the games like shit, and one isn't even playable on.

Yeah, I think that's going to end up being the story with the Switch 2 as well. It'll sell good, but not as good as Switch 1. 70-100 million units.

*Edit*

The movie is due to be released in six months, leading me to believe the Galaxy collection if the movie tie in.

Disagree. Parents will buy things just because and it's Christmas. If you don't think parents wont just buy their kids a Switch 2 whether they ask for it or not, then you're nuts. The parents don't actually give a shit or know about specs and problems with the Switch 2. They just see new Nintendo and go "here kids! Big expensive Christmas present!" regardless of whether the kids ask or actually want it. They'll still smile and play with it every now and again anyway.

If you think the majority of parents know what V-Bucks are or how to buy them, I have a bridge to sell you. Heck, I don't even know what they are.

It would be stupid to not make Mario maker 3. Mario maker 2 fixed some of the obvious issues of the first game (slopes, liquids), but added them in a retarded way. It's dumb that you can't add liquids to any theme or just place them down as pools. And the 3d world theme is stupidly restrictive for a game where the whole point was to mix and match assets from Mario's history. They also removed some cool shit from the first game like 100-mario challenge and the amibo costumes.

They stopped making F-Zero games in the late 90s, the ones that came out after that were made by Sega at a team that doesn't exist anymore.
Yu suzuki's not dead yet. Let him have a shot at f-zero.

By the same logic they'd buy their kids PS5 because it's a big name and they don't care about whether it has games or not.

I won't be surprised if most parents today just buy a steam card or whatever currency there is for Roblox, Minecraft or Genshin.
