I'm just hoping with the 'remaster' of TTYD, the remaster of super mario RPG will put us on track for a good paper mario game.
Probably not, since nearly all of Nintendo's projects were simplified for an younger audience or the devs were just hit with the retard stick too many times.

But there's always room for an surprise or two.

The logical conclusion of allowing women to make video games
Yeah I first noticed it in the forest area that has vegetation all around so I thought nothing of it since it'd just be for that area with the flowery look. But then I saw the same thing in the desert area's Chrono Tower and am having a hard time ignoring it now.

it's wild too because what made the games wildly popular amongst kids is the exact opposite. comparing the first Paper Mario to Origami King is night and day.

My gba SP did that with my pokemon gameboy color copy of silver back in the day and ONLY with that one game. I have no clue how or why it did it but it was surreal because the data would sometimes be back if I put it in my older gameboy models it was just that one that wiped the data when it was played on it.
Had that happen with my Sky3ds and games that apparantly had large save files such as the Etrian Odyssey games, probably had to do with write speeds of SD cards as opposed to the ram on am actual cartridge.

No video game has ever made me tear up with joy more than seeing this. The S2 price was worth it for Bananza alone. And with K. Rool’s drop on Mariokart coming, it just makes the system that more my current favorite.

All we need is DK64.

There really haven't been any games yet that have made buying a switch 2 actually worth it. Everything I was curious about crashed and burned, like Pokemon ZA and Mario Kart.

Maybe Fortune's Weave will be good but seeing as how we still haven't gotten much info about it I'm not holding by breath

ZA and Metroid are out for Switch 1, though. My wife is a big Pokemon fan, and has played through ZA on Switch 1. It seems like it runs at mostly 30FPS. Not sure a Switch 2 is worth it just to play a handful of Switch 1 games at 60 vs 30 with a higher resolution.

I might have gotten one if you didn't need to pay a cuck tax to get games to use the new hardware

I'm sure they're still pretty good games, but the average Metacritic score of big tentpole Nintendo releases is definitely slowly slipping from the 90s a few years ago into the 80s.
Switch's COVID boost made Nintendo complacent. Switch 1's early days were so good because Nintendo was hungry. You can see it in Zelda. BoTW had its issues but was an amazing game. ToTK was completely unnecessary and missed the point entirely. They just assumed they could push anything out and it would be considered a masterpiece and sell a billion copies but that isn't happening.

Good news is the humbling is probably coming. Bananza sold-in 3.5 million but only sold through 2.6 million, which in the digital age is terrible. Then you have Switch 2 getting clapped by PS5 during Black Friday being outsold 2 to 1 in the US and in some European countries 4 to 1. The post launch high is starting to wear off and it likely wont get better from here. The good news is the next Direct will probably be a banger as Nintendo tries to get people interested in the Switch brand again.

The Mariokart World DLC will have to be on fucking point. It’s coming and if King K. Rool is at the helm, it’s going to be massive.

Inspite of the price tags debacle and the reviews, MKW is still the most solid S2 title, with Bananza, since launch. Intendi needs to throw everything from the Mario/DK franchise into MKW. From the most obscure characters to the most smallest NPC, this needs to be an on going update feast for the next decade.

As the saying goes "You only get one first impression." The fact is Mario Kart World might just be unsalvageable at this point. I know there are some examples of a game being saved but not sure how much it brought in new people? Also, Mario Kart World sold 9.5 million but Nintendo also said that 8 million software sales are bundled titles. This could include the Pokemon bundles, but it could mean that only 1.5 million were sold-in. Means the game really has to be bundled to get it into people's hands. Sure, they could put a lot of content in the game to salvage it, but is the Switch 2's one game going to be them trying to be a No Man Sky's situation 2 years after the fact?

MKW will wind up beating out 8 before it s all said and done. Bookmark this post.

Your optimism is endearing, but it'll have to create miracles to actually beat out MK8D in terms of sales. That includes regular DLC and something else akin to the booster course pass.

Don’t underestimate Nintendo’s determination to turn a shit sandwich into prime rib. The 3DS is proof, the Wii U wasn’t. I think Switch 2 will turn a tide after the new year. You will see massive boosts in Spring after the Mario Galaxy movie and whatever they got up their sleeves for a new Mario title, plus Zelda and what I am on about now-MKW DLC.

I think it is too early to decide if S2 is a failure or not. There are still games that release for both the S2 and S1 while the S1 is still enough for many. It is unrealistic to judge it by purely its first year's performance. We will see.

Mario Kart World under-performing as it has is the biggest disappointment, but there's only really been a couple of real stinkers (namely Welcome Tour and Drag X Drive). The rest are either undercooked (Legends: Z-A, which technically is a cross-gen port) or undercooked and a victim of a messy development period (Metroid Prime 4).

I do not disagree but it is too early to call it. Love or hate Nintendo, it is too early.
