Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

Anyone getting weird rendering glitches in games that used to be rock solid under the original Switch?

Like spawning 50 Eponas in BOTW i can understand the glitching, but why was the T-Rex in Luigi's Mansion 3 glitching?
I'm guessing it's some wierd quirk with the backwards compatibility that propped up after an update if they did try and update it kinda akin to how GTA San Andreas's PC port had a bug with the skimmer that didn't pop up until a Windows Update came arround to break it because of a subtle change to the OS's APIs. I say guess because we don't really know how it works code wise on the Switch 2 unlike we do on the original Switch.

As for Switch 2 News...
US hardware sales rose 69% in March 2026 following strong Switch 2 performance.
It's going to be a long 5+ Years because it apears that the Switch 2 is not going to be a Wii U level failure.

New Yoshi and The Mysterious Book Trailer dropped, game will come out May 21st:

Looks like a pretty chill game that I will take as boring from the trailer then likely spend hours going on a search party for all the content. Could be a cute title to add to the collection.

Anyone who thought it was, were either retarded or in denial. It's never gonna hit the Switch 1 heights but I don't doubt it'll get around 100 mill in its lifetime

Princess Peach Showtime! was surprisingly decent.
lol
lmao even

It's only decent if you just blow past it, but if you're actually taking your time and collecting things it's a fucking chore. Post game forces you to do the same shit AGAIN all just for a Ninja hunt, which means watching the same cutscenes AGAIN.... reading the same fucking dialogue AGAIN.... waiting to actually do something AGAIN. And then the boss battles are like "hey do this obscure thing that you wouldn't even think about doing to beat the boss AGAIN in order to get the extra stars"

I mean you could just not 100% it? I never did so the top floor was the only one not fully decorated

I'll grant you that some of those stars are cryptic as fuck, but when you've been in the collectathon mines of Donkey Kong 64 and other such games it's basically a relaxing cruise in comparison. Plus, they gave Peach an ascended super form which is the best thing they've done with her since Super Mario Bros 2.

Then what's the point? That's like saying "don't 100% banjo, it's a collect-a-thon, therefore it's bad". That's like saying ""eh, fuck the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic, normal/bad ending is good enough".

Part of enjoying a game is exploring every aspect of it to where you get that full satisfactory that you've done everything you're supposed to.

In BOTW the upgrades run out halfway through getting korok seeds, and if you get them all all you get is a giant turd. 100%ing the games is not required, and only serves to make a fun exercise not fun anymore. Who's going to care if you peace out at 80%

That being said, when I got to that point of Showtime where it was giving me the bonus round of re-doing every level with a specific restriction I did outright go "fuck that, no"

That's the game they're gonna start their new method of phazing out Physical media overall with the apartheid pricing

Keep in mind, I think subscribing to Nintendo online for the retro games is retarded
These alleged people who subscribe for the emulators but not the actual online features just because they're too dumb to download roms aren't even real. Maybe some tiny minority of redditors to that, but all that's telling me is that it's even less of a phenomenon than chopping off your own dick.

I hope it never gets cracked because even though it has no games that will still piss people off somehow
I mean, the usual youtubers you'd expect to try and drag thier heels about nintendo's bad press or hacks being worse than they actually are is currently doing exactly that with some guy who got SteamOS on the OG switch dispite the hurdles hacking one will have and the fact that Linux and even Android on Switch has been a thing for years and nobody but the hacking scene cared.

I wish they would hurry up and crack this thing so I can pirate a bunch of games on it that I will never bother to play.
It will probably take at least three years for the Switch 2 to be hacked.

The original Switch had a major hardware flaw that was fixed in 2019. Later models of the Switch were harder to hack.

Nintendo are being way more careful with security this time around.

And yet it's library isn't even as impressive as the WiiU's, and the WiiU didn't have an impressive library. Carried solely by backwards compatibility. Meanwhile the Wii, for all its faults, had shit like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Twilight Princess within the first year.

Shit is so embarrassing now.
