It looks good imo but I am not going to spend money on some new gizmo when my old one still works fine.

Nintendo Is Delaying Switch 2 Pre-Orders In Canada

The firm had previously forecast that Nintendo would sell 17 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of 2025, but it has now revised this down to 15 million consoles due to concerns over pricing in the wake of US president Donald Trump’s wave of tariffs. While Nintendo has said Trump’s tariffs had no impact on the $449 price point it set for Switch 2, the fact the company has delayed Switch 2 pre-orders in the US because it wants “to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions” means a price increase in the US hasn’t been ruled out. “With tariffs and uncertain pricing Nintendo may choose to scale back its manufacturing,” DFC Intelligence said. “If prices increase substantially due to tariffs, a significant portion of prospective buyers are likely to hold back on a purchase until prices come down. This situation is changing and will be closely monitored as DFC regularly updates its forecast throughout the year.”

1. Make Switch 2 Welcome Tour free. Once you charge extra for it, loses all novelty. So if you are going to make it, make it free.
This is easily the most actually indefensible thing about the damn system. If you told me I had to play devil's advocate and defend an $80 pricetag for mario kart and presumably other games in the future? I'm not saying I could make a good defense for it, if I thought there was a good defense for it, I wouldn't be so infuriated by it. This though? I've got nothing. This shit doesn't even look like something I'd WANT even if it were free.

3. HDMI 2.1 support, Switch 2 can't output 4k 120fps, which means it's not using 2.1. Even if most games won't hit 4k, being able to output to 4k for games that run at 120fps will help with up-scaling. Lack of 4k 120fps support also means, Switch 2 can't output 40fps modes at 4k, which is a much bigger deal.
I think it was a mistake for them to push for 4K at all, imo. I thought the appeal of the switch was it's cheap price, portability, and it's library. They should've gone for 1440p at most instead of chasing the graphics trend.

I'm not sure you understand my point, it's not about games running at native 4k, it's about up-scaling games so they don't look bad on a 4k TV while in 120hz mode. Mean most games won't come close to a native 4k, many will not even hit 1440p.

Let's you have a ps5 game that runs at 1080p natively, if you set the console to 1080p on a 4k TV it will look worse than it would if you set it to 4k, despite the game still running at 1080p. Also has the benefit of allowing 40fps, which in terms of frame timing is between 30 and 60fps, which is great for many games that have head room over 30fps but not for 60fps.

It all comes down to Nintendo using a HDMI 2.0 port instead of a 2.1 port, nothing else hardware wise stopping it.

Can’t wait to watch the CoD and Madden slop price increase to $80 and still get DLC and MTX out the ass.

So you're telling me if I DON'T buy a Switch 2, I'll save myself 500+ dollars in a horrid economy, avoid some of the shittiest online play ever, avoid all the niggers and mutts in their Eshop ads, I'll get to own the other things I spend my money on, AND avoid no worthwhile games at launch?? Damn Nintendo... you're really making NOT owning a Switch 2 seem like a bargain. Meanwhile, in my emulator folder...
Look at all those free and copy-paste'able things.jpg

think I'll play Paper Mario TTYD at 60 fps on Dolphin (something Nintendo apparently can't replicate after 20 years of hardware "advancement").

nice exorbitantly priced system and games you got there Nintendo. It'd be a shame if I....

upgraded my PC so that it could easily emulate those exorbitantly priced games (and more besides) for pretty much the same cost that it'd take to buy a Switch 2. Yes, it'd be quite a shame. ;)

After dealing with "controller drift" BS, difficult-to-remove batteries that swell, and seeing that S2 vidya may not even be physical copies, I do not think I'm getting S2.

It’s magnets apparently.
So one can't have it near anything that can be damaged by magnets, like credit card strips. That's a good idea.

What? It has physical games. Game Key Cards are one thing, but the more obvious ones are Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. Switch 2 Edition versions are purely physical and contain both the game and the upgrade. You CAN just get the paid upgrade, but then that's like arguing about DLC being digital [which at least two games basically get].

hate to be a techfag, but at the price you bought that CPU, you could have easily paid another hundred for a Ryzen 9 7950X if your motherboard had an AM5 socket and gotten so much more out of it, especially if S2 emulation ever ends up being made by competent people who know how to avoid DMCAs
