its for sure not flopping in the Wii U sense, I think it will do slightly under Switch 1 numbers if im being honest, as much as zoomers are seething about it most don't have an objection to the $450 price tag, to me personally the most objectionable thing is $80 for Mario Kart, its going to set a shit precedent that companies like Rockstar or EA can just shit out any dumb Goyslop and it will still sell

It's an even worse idea when AstroBot had a small version as a free packin for PS5 and really helped to move units (to a point where they made a full game that won fucking GOTY in many places).

10 dollars for a walking simulator with wikipedia descriptions of of the components of the system combine with Gameboy tier minigames and I guess you could include cripple ball for a separate tech demo. As far as tech demos are concerned, remember how Wii Sports was a fun introduction to the Wii? Especially when playing with friends and family? Same with NintendoLand and the 3ds card game. And if we are really stretching the definition of tech demo, We used to have fun games at launch like Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World and F-Zero, Super Mario 64 and Pilot Wings 64, and Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin. The launch lineup ingeneral for this console looks so dry with only open world Mario Kart being the exception.

Let me just channel Mike Stoklasa for a second but that reminds me Star Trek Deep Space Nine. The Ferengi culture expect you to pay a donation when you visit somebody else's home. The latinum box is by the door so it's the first thing they do when they visit somebody.

Edit: Mentioning Super Mario World and company, do you remember when a console came with a complete game and TWO controllers and every accessory you needed set it up. God I hate this gay future we live in.

It's 10$ so they can make sure to have your credit card ready for the next digital purchase.
 
one thing I will give nintendo is that making the switch 1 controllers backwards compatible with switch 2 stuff is a god send, i remember that helping alot in terms of games like super mario 3d world on wii u since everyone seemed to have a wii remote hiding somewhere on them
doesn't mean shit for games like prime 4 or drag X drive but will help for stuff like mario kart world and the inevitable smash bros game after Sakurai is finished with air riders
