I’m one of the weirdos that love the Switch Pro Controller. And one of the few parts of the unveiling i really liked was that controllers are backwards compatible.

For the unveiling, One step forward, two steps back i guess.

The switch pro controller's perfect on the whole in my opinion, the main issue for me is how screwed the D-pad is, hopefully the second controller fixes that.
To be honest, most of the smaller shit is what is seeming tempting for the switch 2 more than major changes, per game button mapping, an eshop that does run like complete ass, per game configs for NSO roms, voice chat's screen sharing helping with the multiplayer GBA games like kirby amazing mirror/Four swords, Ect.
If I do get this thing, it will be half because it is a switch pro more than switch 2
 
Nigger what. apparently soytendo is delaying pre-orders to respond to the tariffs so the price might go up even more. We all know the ridiculous prices before that are stupid enough already that the tariffs don't even matter. But of course they see a way to get more money so their greedy niggerasses do so.

It’s a product that i’m going to wait to see what Nintendo does in the next year. Tried Elden Ring and couldn’t get into it. I’ve already played 2077 but would be willing to pick it up on a cart because my experience with Switch is that it’s slow to download games.

How many of my 3rd party games will work from start to finish, with as little bugs as possible.

Not really interested in the NSO roms because i have all that on a drive. But the per button mapping does make it seem a bit more enticing. I haven’t gotten too much into configuring gamepads on emulators since i’m lazy. So i’m not sure if emulators support it or not. Would be nice since the n64 wrestling games suck with anything but a n64 controller.

I'm still rolling my eyes over this decision. Nintendrones are making excuses that it will feature content that makes the price worth it. I guarantee they'll all buy it and rave at how it was so worth the price. But in the end it's a tutorial. And given the price of the console and games, the fact that they aren't making a tutorial they value at $10 a pre-loaded freebie is just the cherry on top of this big 'ol greed sundae.
 
I just don’t see why you wouldn’t package it in. They’ve got like 20 years of showing that doing that yields great resultd.

Everyone is saying Nintendo are being greedy but I can’t see it. Greed would be what Regie did.

He was not a boss at the company, he was a glorified regional marketing director. The wii's north american marketing campaign, including bundling wii sports? Absolutely stellar. You know what else he was in charge of marketing though? The fucking wiiu.

cyberpunk is nice bc is it will have cross platform save data so I can go from switch to pc to ps5 ect.
but yeah I'd say if your hesitant for sure wait a year to pick one up

agreed mostly on just emulating shit but can be useful if you want to play retroshit with friends just because I can understand a tutorial to set up dolphin or GBA net play doesn't mean my friends will me able to

I think Nintendo Land was the the result of HQ seeing the success of the Wii Sports bundle and going "oh, then we have to do that again!" without realising what made Sports work, rather than him pushing for it specifically again. Unless someone has a quote that he pushed for it that time too?

There's also the fact that nintendoland wasn't a free bundle like wii sports was, the wiiu with nintendoland was an additional $50, just like the mario kart world bundle.
 
So this whole drama is very funny when looking at the people content farming it acting like there ate too many Nintendo shills when actually the people shitting on Nintendo and the Switch 2 appear far more numerous.

It’s also very fun hearing them say ‘i wish Nintendo did the kind of stuff they did in my childhood’ a time when they were too young to realise Nintendo was doing exactly the same thing and acting like their output has fundamentally changed since.

When the majority of the current Nintendo heavy hitters started being made in their childhood.

depends, I think in terms Multiplayer FPSslop it absoutely Has but theres still good Singleplayer Games being released, even ones with larger budgets, just depends on ones personal taste i guess

Especially strange when the pricing of the console makes sense for what it can do - and everyone was asking for those things - and variable pricing is what the company has always done. For once they wete just up front with it.

Could the 2 have been cheaper? Probably. But to do that with the Switch they had to gut what made it the Switch. And they will make a Lite 2.

A lot of this feels like children screaming at their parents for telling them the truth and not being able to be patient

I love how Nintendo does what they always do after a successful console - make a second one that builds on all the things the previous one did is now being called a loss of identity lmao.

The one time they openly go ‘right, we will do what gamers and the industry say they want’ instead of quietly doing it like normal and everyone starts screaming that they are the worst and are dead.
