I remember the first year of 2 being fun just like the original. I cannot recall when it switched over to everything being LGBT, but it had to be around the death of 2 (maybe 2019?).

Always interesting going through the general Splatoon community now where it is heavily gay focused while coincidentally having a growing pedophile problem. Games are fun, but community wise it is a lost cause. Easily Nintendo’s most avoidable community, only rivaled by Animal Crossing.
I figured the userbase was fucked between the all the gay shit and the largest youtuber I could find, ProChara, giving me huge Schmorky vibes due to sounding like fucking Kermit. Is it more or less fucked than Melee?

Probably about the same if not more pedo-wise, but with the added bonus of ever post on the game being about Trans-rights. I will be honest and admit I stopped keeping up with either due to having other focuses and how shit both have become.

Okay a bunch of you are totally not going to buy it and don't like the pricing. Can we move on? You've been saying the same thing for months.
I think we can have a month of smug satisfaction post launch. After that it's seeing when the exclusives come out and if any of them is any good. Bonus points if the Switch 2 gets hacked before any good game comes out so that PC players can play the games with better specs.

But the sales numbers are phenomenal, the games are getting good reviews and most people that own the system are happy and having fun.

:\
The hype was that that it will be sold out rather than having plenty of leftover units, doesn't help the release had fair share of issues and technological let downs. Plus currently there is only one game with mid impressions by players. I don't really care about the owners as long as they aren't annoying fanboys, but it's fun to laugh at low quality of the current product.

But then, Nintendo always comes off to me as being stubborn pig-ignorant of any game they didn't invent. Hence for example how it took them until Metroid Dread to figure out that the save point should also be the recharge station and the place where plot exposition is delivered... something Castlevania figured out all the way back in SOTN (minus the exposition part).
Dread wasn't even a main nintendo team, pretty sure it was the spanish team who liked metroidvanias and the only reason they even got the license was because nintendo gives that little of a shit about metroid.

That's because the game came out in 05 and 90% of LGBT identities and symbols didn't exist until Tumblr 2012. At best, you would find a rainbow.
At worst, and thankfully there was nary even a rainbow.

How many massive games did you expect in the first six months? Mario Kart, DK, Pokemon, Metroid. Thats a great start. Its not the original Switch but what is?
Half those games ARE the original Switch lol. I'd expect at least 4-6 big games considering how port heavy Switch was, how dry last year was, and how long Switch 2 has been in the oven. The launch window should've been stacked, there's no excuse.

I'd give until the next year before we see anything noteworthy. If not, we can still keep laughing at the people who are still hyped up for buying an stillborn console

There hasn't been a main Metroid team inside Nintendo since Fusion. Prime was done by Retro, muh baby was done with Bamco and now Mercury Steam is a 2nd party developer to Ninty that does 2D Metroid. Ninty has a couple of 2nd party studios doing games for them, Level 5 and Monolith to name a few

The shuttering of Nintendo R&D 1 and its consequences has been a disaster for the human race.

Well played, Gamestop.

Remember when this topic was us arguing about which Nintendo franchises weren't as good as they used to be? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Fine I'll bite (to avoid Zelda sperging)...

Animal Crossing is an obvious downgrade since 3DS. New Horizons, while fine, feels incredibly unfinished compared to previous entries even if it is technically a technical marvel of programming given the freedom. In saying this, it came at the consequence of lacking personality.

Super Smash Bros has lost so much soul since Brawl. It is a series that went fully in on new characters, many of which being 3rd party now. As a result, that Nintendo soul the series had in Melee and Brawl feels largely absent in the newer entries as they slowly remove features such as trophies, chronicle, masterpieces, stickers, etc.. The series also just lacks significant content with the removal of so many side modes. Really wish they would do something like Adventure/Subspace again - it was my favorite mode. The games are by no means bad, but they really lack that extra flavor they used to have.

Mario Spinoffs (not side series or RPG) - Really all of them from Kart to sports have this feeling of emptiness and like they are behind the times. The GC and Wii gave these titles so much character, personal favorite being Super Sluggers for sports. Now, Nintendo releases these titles half-finished and they don't play as well as they used to. Feels like they tried to "balance" many of them for competitive play, completely killing the chaotic charm.

Endless Ocean - New entry was very cheaply made and the auto-generated landscapes killed the entire point of the series. This was supposed to be a fairly realistic and educational series about ocean life, now there are freshwater fish in coral reefs. New entry also lacks the story and character of the first two titles, as yes, they actually did have a plot.

Warriors Spin-offs - Don't care to differentiate between FE and Zelda. They both have been on a downwards trajectory since FE Warriors (2017). Most of it is due to basing these titles on one game, but even mechanically, they feel worse.

I enjoyed Three Hopes mechanically more than FE Warriors 1. FEW1 was also just fateswakening pandering with special guest marth from the super smash bros series.
