<retard rambling> Sony shipped historically MASSIVE shipments of the ps5 during its first 2 months. Yes, my midwit blight, I know what you're about to say. They indeed sold out those shipments, just like every single in demand holiday trendy item has since the fucking tickle me elmo has done every fucking year. Do you see the difference between shipping over a million a month and failing to meet holiday demand and shipping in some cases less than 100k a month? Now, I know 2nd grade math were the four hardest years of your life, but 1,000,000+ is a bigger number than <100,000.
Thats a lot of empty insults when you said, and I quote
The actual shortages didn't start until January 2021
Do you need me to fucking spoonfeed you the definition of a shortage: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/shortage.asp
A shortage, in economic terms, is a condition where the quantity of a product or service demanded is greater than the quantity supplied at the market price
So, if we have people wanting more consoles than Sony can supply, in NOVEMBER and DECEMBER, then you're just wrong because there was always a shortage. EDIT: Also want to add that the Reuters and GadgetMatch articles called it a "shortage" so not sure where in your caved skull you got the idea there wasn't a shortage.

So yeah, you're a fucking dent. Just admit you were wrong and deal with it. All this fucking sperging from you when I simply pointed out sales were down 75%.

Answer the question, pinkdate with what I'm suuuuure is a totally ironic loli avatar. Is 1,000,000+ bigger or smaller than <100,000?
At no point did I say "PS5 was never out of stock in November and December of 2020". What I said was I was tired of the revisionism conflating 1,000,000+ per month shipments with what would start happening in January 2021. Maybe, if you put a gun to your forehead, you can get some of the water that's clearly in your brain to drain out.

Not only is Switch 2 outselling PS5... Switch 1 games are continuing to sell until next year.

One of the overlooked aspects of Switch 2 is that it isn't really a next gen console: It's more of an incremental upgrade like the Game Boy Color or New 3DS. (Both of which also had exclusive titles by the way) Switch 1 still has confirmed releases going well into next year, and I expect both Switch 1 and Switch 2 titles will continue to perform very well for a long while yet.

In other words... PS5 is getting raped by both the Switch 1 AND Switch 2. And people don't understand how big of a deal that is.

Nintendo really has fallen. And with Japan now importing niggers and browns things will only get worse. Imagine having spend money on this console 😂

If you wanna shit on a Switch 2 game, MK World is the much better target imo

Anyone who thinks the Switch 2, let alone the Switch 1, were anything but huge financial boons for Nintendo are very much deluding themselves. Insofar as the PS5 and S2 comparison goes, I don't think Sony feels particularly threatened by Nintendo (or vice versa) as their appeal to consumers don't particularly overlap.

I noticed DSP claimed the game was too easy as well, even though you can find hours and hours of compilations of him failing basically everything.

"It's too easy." Basically means "I can beat it if I max out balloons, health, and apple gels."

If the game was challenging the same people would be saying it's too hard.
It's mindlessly easy usually. Sometimes even boss battles end in a matter of seconds without putting up any resistance whatsoever.

The hardest thing is finding the willpower to grind for Gold to find Bananas. They really screwed the Banana system up imo. It has the problem Odyssey had of having too many Moons, but with the added issue of not being able to realistically find most of them without destroying every inch of material. This means you need to buy VERY expensive maps, which means you need to grind for Gold incessantly.

This then reveals one other problem; at least in Odyssey you still had some fun exploring and finding Moons even if the satisfaction of finding them was diminished, most of that fun is stolen from Bananza because you just follow the map icon to get the Banana. Sometimes there's a little puzzle or task involved, but often even those are bafflingly trivial. I'd say--generously--about 20% of Bananas are actually fun to acquire.

I still like the game but my first impressions were more positive.

There were "actual shortages" from the start, he's right. Maybe he's missing some nuance to your argument about to what degree there were shortage, but your claim is just objectively untrue, at least in the technical sense.

It definitely seems like Nintendo just rebranded the long rumored Switch Pro and just called it Switch 2.

Most people tend to farm gold in post-game via the "turns-terrain-into-gold" Bananza skills you get from completing the Bananza Rehersals, I know that using the Kong and Elephant Bananzas in the Landfill Layer is a popular one.

The shortages were partially fueled by people scalping the system at launch, it was difficult to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X due to people botting the shit out of online inventory whenever it popped up for sale and it only stabilized around 2023. Hell, the only way most consumers could buy a PS5 was buying $700-$800 bundles that included games and accessories.

Guess it sounds like I should just get to post-game then. Kinda wish I knew about that, but I don't like revisiting areas and prefer just clearing all the Bananas out asap when possible.

Yeah, I remember the major scalping going on for years.

The PS5 was scalped because people wanted it (for some unknown reason). If the Switch 2 was as in demand as the PS5 it would be scalped just as badly.

In our defense we were under the false impression Sony might actually put some games on it sometime between it's release and the ps6, a big ask I know considering they were hard at work making concord and getting as many nikacado avocado face scans as possible for Horizon Forbidden West.

Using the sales figure as a reason the Switch 2 isn't a piece of shit is retarded, might as well do the same for Disney+ while ignoring the fact most of the subscribers are jeets.

I have one and honestly it's pretty good over the PS4, even just from technical aspect. I have no idea why Nintendo being IP whores is seen as laudable while Sony releasing their IPs to PC is derided, absolutely insane behaviour.

The whole thing sounds even more retarded when you put it this way. I don't remember Gameboy Color or New 3DS launching at a significantly higher price than the models they were replacing.

It just devalues their console. Which is fine by me.
Eh, kind of but not really. People that are going to buy a PC are never going to buy a ps5, the notion of playing a game on ps5 is laughable to most pc players and on the other side you have PlayStation purists who don't care about gaming on a pc they just was a ps5. The only competition for those people is the Switch or X-Box (yeah right lol). Sony isn't losing anything by putting their games on pc they are actually getting more people playing their games than they would have if they kept their games exclusive to the ps5, pc players just wouldn't care and less people would buy those games if that was the case.

When the basis of your argument is "No no no see the shortages were a lie made up by big Sony" I doubt there is some Ancient Chinese wisdom in his ramblings. But that guy has always been a bit of a dent. I remember him getting into some stupid argument about NSMB not being a real Mario game or something.

Interestingly, we have Famitsu numbers too and they aren't good either.
>Switch 2 – 35,359 (1,892,123)
This is the lowest week on record. What's crazy is that if you look at Switch 2 sales compared to Switch 1 over the same week last year, Switch 1 sold 42,968. So it looks like, even in Japan sales are starting to slump. Like I said, critics are going to be proven right in the long term

I wouldn't say it's insane behavior. If they need the money, then releasing on PC too will get them some and probably doesn't eat into potential PS5 sales that much. But I would say that they need to do so is proof that Sony is running PlayStation into the ground. Even if hypothetically PC ports would never have eaten into PlayStation sales (kind of a big if), Sony never made them in the past out of the principle of it. It's their exclusive games made for PlayStation, to show off PlayStation hardware, and they're not going to "devalue" them by letting you play them without buying a PlayStation, as well as prove that other hardware could play the games meaning PlayStation isn't that special. If Sony is throwing that away to get some extra money from the PC playerbase then they must be in a bad situation.

No matter the reason, the industry being less exclusive based is a net good. And with PS5/XBone games the likely reason is that porting them is incredibly cheap compared to previous gens, so at most the companies can pay for timed exclusivity. Meanwhile the Switch 2 is at most PS3 level graphics, making backports waiting disasters.

If you want to see something crazy, go look at PS5 software sales and compare them to other systems. Its worse than the PS4 or even the fucking Gamecube. People aren't buying games on Playstation anymore. They basically buy it to play some GAAS game like Fortnite, Apex or Mihoyo games or they play sports games. This is why everyone is moving to PC because console software sales are in the gutter. Sony got lazy this generation. It will be interesting to see Switch 2's software sales, especially for games outside the bundle because I expect Nintendo will have a similar problem. Raising the price of games has been a disaster for the industry as a whole.

Difference is, Disney has been hit hard enough to notice it. They want to bring back the men that they chased away. We will see what happens with Nintendo.

Hello, Mr. John Nintendo.
I will buy your product once it comes in more cute colors.

Sincerely,
Meurotypical Nantis.
