Welp, despite all the rightful complaints about Nintendo's price gouging antics, guess what is the best selling video game on Amazon?

The plebs are plebbing and losing shekels? Ahh jeez dude, I guess I better open up my wallet now to consume slop.... Oh wait, no, that's not how boycotts actually work. Instead, I'll keep playing my newest Saturn rom.

Sweet game.

i bought my switch soon after it released since i thought prime 4 was imminent after that e3 trailer, i got it really cheap actually ($130 since i had an amazon gift card and the box was damaged) and it's one of the early models they can't patch so i'll probably hack it before prime 4 finally comes out, already have the jig just want to make sure i do it right and don't get myself banned.
i played smash ultimate for a while and the online was fun but i realized that getting clowned on over and over again by some 300lb neckbeard who does nothing but play pichu all day wasn't worth my time. metroid dread was really disappointing. tetris 99 has been the most fun i've had on it. bought the new mario & luigi and realized i've outgrown the series, got really bored with it really quickly. now i'm just waiting for prime 4 to drop so i can jig it and get it for free if it really is going to be open world like the trailer implied, i'm tired of getting duped by modern gaming. i see zero reason to get a switch 2 at the moment, i think nintendo said they launched it early only because they were scared of how orange man's tariffs would impact the market.
anything i need to know before i hack it? im not a complete retard but i'd also not like to have a paperweight.

I remembered what the Virtual Boy reminded me of:

Granted that stand price us still fucking insane and probably done because corporations will pay for it rather than individuals.
Yeah, Nintendo still has a long way to go before they've reached Apple-level consoomer fleecing.

The masses are cattle and any collective action (like a boycott) will almost never happen. Remember how many people said they were going to boycott the Switch 2 before immediately buying it day 1?

I honestly thought you were joking about the wheels.

I sometimes forget how stupid the average person is. I always consider one thing with any boycott. Even if it fails, you still saved your own money and that's all that matters.

It's not a particularly great burden to continue avoiding something I was already disinterested in, which is almost always the case with these boycotts, so knowledge of the historical ineffectiveness of boycotts isn't much of a bitter pill to swallow for me.

Metroid looks awesome
I want what you're smoking cause it looked like shit, graphically, and the reveal that it's (probably) yet another open world game was a real kick to the nuts (BOTW's success seems to have mind-raped the Nintendo execs). I agree with
Dragon Quest was a huge surprise
though, it looked interesting.

Well the mario galaxy collection went up on amazon uk for £79.99 LOL WTF what drugs are nintendo uk smoking that think they can charge that when it's £41 in Japan. Fucking greedy bastards!

That desert just looked... lame, like the worst parts of Xenoblade X (the 2015 version). And the Metroidcycle is pretty tone deaf. You know, Samus has a gunship for that... like how she used it in Prime 3. But they'll take the gunship away with time travel shenanigans or something to force the motorcycle gimmick. A very tiresome concept after waiting 8+ years for Prime 4 to get out of development hell. A new revolutionary game like Metroid Prime 1 this will not be.

So I traded in my Switch 2, my other half has one, so it's not really a loss for me. In the UK, we have a store called CEX. The guy said to me, "Bad Direct?" I was actually surprised, "he said," since Friday, mine was the 12th Switch 2 they had taken in.

I was looking forward to Metroid. I saw that desert and was getting Pokémon Scarlet visions.

At some point the pricing feels like going backwards especially for the switch, like when people used to trade or go borrow expensive games from the neighborhoods rich kid.

Also:
Play Asia has pre-orders going for £50.93/ 54$ / 57€ for anyone looking for a "bargain"

A solid Pokemon Gen 10 is the only thing that can get me to really want to shovel out cash for the Switch 2. I'm still debating on waiting for the inevitable OLED version.
I'll admit it, I think that stupid Pokopia or w/e game is cute and will probably get it.

Are people still blaming Trump for the prices or is it obvious to everyone now that Nintendo was just being greedy and the prices are outrages almost everywhere in the world?

I honestly thought that Metroid looked great, aaaaaaall the way until I saw that ugly barren desert. I'm honestly surprised that they showcased that as if it they were really proud of it. I don't mind the stupid motorcycle, the barren wasteland ruined it for me. I expect a little more from their "next gen, better performance system". Scarlet and Violet has a smidge more asset population. Utterly embarrassing.

I can't believe they didn't give us a REAL flagship title and still expected the Switch 2 to sell like hotcakes. The MK fans like World (minus the really dumb updates) and DK Bananza was decently recieved, but that's far fom enough imo. This has been a relatively disasterous launch and they should've had something else to get the fans's attention. Kirby Air Riders seems to be the last great hold out for a lot of people and that's becuase Sakurai seems so giddy and into his favorite pet project.

The day one Pokemon DLC is nasty work and Nintendo obviously had Bananza's DLC at the ready, but didn't want to upset fans just yet. Locking the starter mega evolutions behind ranked mode is the cherry on top.

I looked at the trailer and it reminded me a lot of Arkham Knight, though in Arkham Knight's defence, the Batmobile is fucking cool and Gotham is fun to drive in.

Every Redditor blames Trump over a (supposedly) rich corporation needing more money rather than just reduce price for the consumers.

The only people I know who likes Nintendo at this point are kids but I bet they aren't enough to keep things running.

As a reminder, just five years ago the price of AAA games capped at £50 or £60 on digital stores like PSN for god knows why. And that was for the latest over-budgeted sony slop.

Nintendo seems to banking on having a big multiplayer game to keep people occupied for the year. If no big mario game is planned to release for the holiday season, then they are probably going to release a MK dlc as a hold-over until then. The swich 2 is such a strange system in terms of games. With how long the system must have been in the works you'd think they would have planned out a better launch year.

The only people I know who likes Nintendo at this point are kids but I bet they aren't enough to keep things running.

I dont think kids are much into Nintendo anymore if not their parents are into Nintendo. The kids of today are more into Minecraft, Roblox and Fortnite and play on what ever they have. What keeps Nintendo running and allow them to have riddicules prices, are 30-40 years old millennial fanboys that buys everything.
