they've been doing this for years, and it's not like they've been known for thier execptional care for thier employees, and this is the sequel to Tomadachi Life on 3DS, a game they famously apologized for not having gay shit. you are late by literal years like everyone who has been pushing back against it since it became more obvious in recent years and/or this game was revealed.

What's a celebration even supposed to be, more tat for cringelords to put on their shelf and never use? Another game? Metroid Prime 4 came out less than half a year ago. Zelda got upgraded BotW and TotK ports under a year ago. And it sounds like both actually are getting new games this year anyway.

If we go by leaks, Zelda is getting a remake this year to celebrate. Not the worst way of going about things, though certainly not a new game. We are still way too early for either a 2D or open world game in the series.

Metroid is probably screwed unless the team behind Dread has something ready. Not impossible, there was a 4 year gap between Dread and Metroid 2 Remake, but not getting hopes up.


The Super Mario Galaxy film seems to be the focal point of this year and is shoving all announcements back. Really terrible timing as unlike the first, Nintendo is selling a brand new console that really needs some trust that things will come to it.

My hope would be that the film is hinting at announcements. A new Star Fox or Pikmin to come off the heels of the movie would kick things into gear. Maybe a big DLC update for MK World so characters like Wart or R.O.B. are playable.

The Star Fox rumor also had SM and OoT remakes this year, its all one rumor.

Anyways, this "anniversary" stuff is all bullshit anyway. Since most of Nintendo's classic franchises started on NES they're ALL having their 40 anniversaries from 2023 to 2030. Then the SNES franchises get theirs, then the NES franchises turn 50 (God, just get it over with and take me now, shit) etc. Just a never-ending waterwheel of "important dates, all of which need an overpriced shelf-warmer for /r/nintendo gooners.

Fuck video games, fuck Nintendo, I hate Nintendo, don't take my money anymore.

It makes sense for the bigger brands like Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon, but the rest are just not big enough to warrant it. Kirby is the only other one that gets anniversary material, but that is due to being Hal’s only child.

Allegedly Pikmin 4 is getting a Switch 2 Edition, so that would also align with the film.
 
I'm seeing a lot of niggers thinking an Ocarina of Time remake is happening because some jewtube faggot said so. Never change nintendrones. There will be no remake, and if there is it will be a frankenstein's monster of wannabe ubisoft Zelda tropes hamfisted into it, or worse they go with the fisher price art style from the Grezzo games. There it goes, $10 or $5 more that i give Soytendo to replay a game i 100% on the Switch 1.
Hopefully all the games get some type of upgrade, specially 3 and 4 (1&2 are running ok through their emulation, i wouldn't mind a bump to 4k res but i don't really care about it for these games).

What constitutes a remake/remaster isn’t well defined insofar a common consensus is concerned. I’d count the N64 remake, the All Star Collection, the 3DS remakes of OOT/MM, etc. If you mean “substantially changed the core gameplay/story” like FF7R or the RE ones, I guess not?
