And yet it's library isn't even as impressive as the WiiU's, and the WiiU didn't have an impressive library. Carried solely by backwards compatibility. Meanwhile the Wii, for all its faults, had shit like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Twilight Princess within the first year.

Shit is so embarrassing now.
Here's a partial list of popular Switch titles that were originally Wii U releases

Why are you counting the dual released Twilight Princess but not the Switch 2's multiplats? Is it because you're full of shit?

Have you played Donkey Kong Bananza?

It is easily the best game on the Switch 2.

Wii-U lifttime exclusives vs Switch 2 one year in, it's an objective lie that took less than 20 seconds of google to disprove

The list is heavily culled Wii U side since Nintendo ported all of them to Switch for full price
Thats by design. We're comparing this to the Switch 2 in 2026, which has a better library. If a game got a port to Switch you are better off playing it there (or even on Switch 2) than on Wii U unless you really like the original last two levels of Captain Toad. Under your argument I might as well say that you are being unfair to Switch 2 since you aren't including titles that haven't been released, or even announced, yet.

I think he's got some form of insecurity related to liking old Nintendo games and even to an extent, still liking Nintendo, why else would he frequently bring up emulators as god's gift to man when 90% of the regluars in this thread (Me included) emulate old consoles pretty often and don't need to make post after post about how betterer emulation is. (I think everybody knows at this point) Even the dedicated emulator/retro games thread isn't like this. Yeah, games were better back then but it's not that deep, and Nintendo's games, even back then were easily trounced by third parties (or even Sony and Microsoft back when they were competent) in aspects like graphics, story, and actually being hardcore games. (I can name several games that had characters with more depth in one game than Midna ever did in Twilight Princess and every other apearance she made after that)

The new Nintenpeople game is so weird. I just want a cyberpug.
I can see why this game was such a smash hit with the more typical gamers with just how fucked up you can make things within the game's limitations.

my mistake, but looking at the ported wii-u games and the majortity of those weren't even exclusive but multiplat
Scroll up.

4 actually so thats 1/3rd of the list, enough to not want to use it
And I just gave you five. So we're at thirteen (still not a complete list), containing some great games, and not including those that remain Wii U exclusive to this day. The "objective lie" you were claiming is looking more like an objective fact by the minute.

what exactly was the lie? I said the majority of ports to the switch were already multi platform, and that remains true.

Do you suffer short-term memory loss? You called this an objective lie:

Here is you saying as much:
Wii-U lifttime exclusives vs Switch 2 one year in, it's an objective lie that took less than 20 seconds of google to disprove
You then admitted that you were relying on faulty evidence:
my mistake
And I've further added to the pile of life-time exclusives for the Wii U.

one of those isn't even me and I admitted that was a mistake so yea I said no lie. Don't know how you could mistake a name totally different from mine unless you were hoping no one would notice this lie of yours
one more edit- that pile of exclusive you listed were faulty as well, since a few of them were multi-plat, you didn't even bother to check if it was true.

Arguing this library is better than that one is ultimately so subjective. I think if you prefer more traditional Nintendo games to open world stuff, you could make a very good argument that the Wii U had a better first party library a year in than Switch 2. I have Mario Kart World. I don't play it. The open world means nothing to me and I don't care for it. If you like it, cool, but ultimately I had a lot more fun playing Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World and NSMBU when they were new games than I have with Mario Kart World.

I mean, not really.

Mario 3D World and NSMBU are totally better on Wii U. Bowser's Fury excellent, but the Mario 3D World port itself is atrocious. It runs too fast, and all the touch screen elements are mapped to motion controls when playing multiplayer in docked mode. NSMBU makes it so you can't play four-players without someone having to pick an easy mode character. You get Toadette as a playable character, but you lose boost mode, which I mean, make of that what you will.

I've played through BOTW on both Wii U and Switch. While there are more frame drops and lower resolution on Wii U, the game only looks negligibly better on Switch. When you put them side by side they're almost identical:

The rest of the Wii U ports have some stupid feature no one will use tacked on to justify charging full price for near decade old games like the ability to be Funky Kong in Tropical Freeze.

Now I'm not going to argue these were all better for Wii U, because Switch introduces portability, but if you already had a Wii U or didn't care about portability, there was little advantage to upgrading to the Switch version of most of these games and you may as well have just played them on your Wii U. The Switch just introduced them to a wider audience because the Wii U install base was so small.

I think the one that is genuinely better for Switch was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it included the DLC and fixed battle mode, not to mention the DLC that came later.

SMB3DW released three days short of the Wii U's first anniversary. Switch 2 is not yet at that point and thus that game cannot count. You are also entirely discounting DKB, which is a Mario Odyssey-like single path game where you can backtrack and explore side-content and Pokopia, which is a Builders game.

edit: Xenoblade X was also clearly better on Switch since it included a new post-game chapter that gave the game an actual ending (well, more than the original did anyway.) I am relatively sure that some of those other ports stripped out mandatory touchscreen gimmicks, too, which inherently makes them better.

This is needlessly pedantic. We are a little over 40 days out from that point with Switch 2. There's nothing that big coming by then.

Bro, I literally said if you don't like open world stuff, there's not a lot on the Switch 2 and you cited two open world style games. I guess you're as good at reading comprehension as you are at quoting the right person.
