Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

Okay so, a bit powerlevelly, but this shows how annoying this shit is in my life
Over on twitter, I met a couple I enjoyed hanging out with, a transgender woman and her cis boyfriend, knew em for… years now, kept a nice rapport with both of em. Till a few months ago, where the boyfriend decided he wasn't a man anymore, he was generic nonbinary, and wanted they/them pronouns. From that moment I've actively tried not to associate with either much, because of this cancerous shit. Dude spoke of nothing but this for a good month, he doesn't "present" as anything different, most he does is crossdresss at a con with her once years ago, and wear feminine socks (think those long anime-ass ones, he pulled em off surprisingly well). But the kicker, his REASON for deciding this? Something like "I don't FEEL so masculine, I don't like having body hair or a beard, I like """""cute"""" clothes" that's actually all the reasonings I could find. For the former two, bitch, join the club. I was cursed with both Irish and Italian decent, yet I didn't get the fun parts, just the horrifying prospenity for growing a lot of body hair really fast, I hate that Shit, I'd keep it shaved down if it didn't pop back up so fast. Ya ain't no specialgender, you're just a normal dude without strictly masculine tastes. Anyway, powerlevel rant over, in case it wasn't obvious, these people leave me with a special chip on my shoulder

That's probably the shit I hate most about 'non-binary'. They take not wanting thick/dark body hair and liking of cute or pink things or whatever, and instead of embracing the idea that their more effeminate traits don't make them less of a man, they just give up and say they aren't a man anymore. They think they're being progressive by claiming to be non-binary and they are breaking gender stereotypes, and that's what makes them so shitty. They are just enforcing gender stereotypes while getting patted on the back for actively harming causes like feminism and trans rights.

They just need to calm down and realize that 'non-binary' men aren't special for liking to bake or pastel colors and 'non-binary' women aren't special for having short hair and unshaved armpits. Everyone on the planet has traits and interests that are typically associated with the opposite gender. Ya'll ain't special, just stop.

I know these two non-binary people who are dating each other. But they are still clearly regular effeminate gay dudes. Everyone likes to talk about how white gay men are oppressors, and so by being 'non-binary', they can escape that classification. And they still dress in a clearly male fashion and go by their clearly male names. I know or have known multiple other people who fall into this category and it's annoying. Just be swishy! It's okay!

Should we have a thread on Pinterest?

Speaking of which, should we have a thread on Whisper too?

So is this why I'm seeing "folks" spelled "folx" more often? Not inclusive enough? Like "Latinx"?

The term validity has lost it's meaning. Literally anything is valid now no matter how ludicrous. Tumblr loves bathing is false validation. It's like Daily Affirmation with Stuart Smalley.

"I'm trans enough
I'm kin enough
And doggone it
My headmates like me"

I found this in the non binary tag while looking for lulz.

Makeup and cleavage hanging out of a low cut sweater. Obviously 100% female with no attempt whatsoever to look androgynous. But she's totally non binary in addition to being a little. Although she claims she's not into any sort of porn stuff and is triggered by MLP porn.

Additionally:

Well maybe I should have pit this in the littles thread. But she's also convinced she's non binary. So either or.

If she's a minor, she shouldn't be putting her tits on the internet.

'Babefriend' is awful. Worse than 'datemate' by far. Datemate makes me think of like...an awkward Homestuck who giggles when they see a bucket. Babefriend makes me think of a 350 pound chick with danger hair who thinks fat people are oppressed.

I wonder how much English's relative gender neutral ness as a language has contributed to this trend? Compare English to other European languages where every object has a gender, every occupation word is gendered and not just some, and adjectives change endings depending on the gender of the person they're describing. And in some of those countries last names are still patrynomic and thus have gendered endings. And I know at least in Germany, giving your child an ambiguously gendered name is illegal, whereas in the US it's not. And English speakers were already using 'they' instead of 'he or she' before this started existing. It would be a lot harder to be non-binary somewhere else.

The biggest strength and problem with English as a language is it's too damn adaptive. New words ( mostly pronouns lately) are made up on the fly every day, and thanks to this wonderful thing called the internet, those words get pushed into the lexicon before most people even realize that shit was literally just made up.

One time I made a list of every word I saw on tumblr that I'd never seen before, and then I had to stop because there were so many words.
I took a pop into the tumblr 'non binary' search right now, filtered on recent text. I saw...xirl, woman-aligned, transmasculine, cisgender, neurodivergency, neurotypical, lunarians, solarians, fem aligned, masc aligned, multigender, genderfluid, exorsexist, and amab non-aligned enbies. I s2g.

Also, having a private blog is great because you can reblog posts there to save for later without them being able to tell who you are.

It says a lot about the age and relative maturity of the people who make these kinds of shitty graphics that they offer no stupid alternatives at all for husband and wife. Spouse? Lifemate? Ring Twin? Man, coming up with this bullshit is harder than I thought, but that might be because I don't want to sound completely asinine and that doesn't appear to have been a consideration for OP here. I don't suppose it matters, though, when absolutely none of them are likely to get married until they tear their gazes from their oh-so-perfect and non-gendered navels, grow the fuck up, and stop screaming abuse every time they don't get their own way.

Maybe they figured that since "spouse" does already exist, they didn't need to make up anything else :optimistic:

Then again I can't even get my head around "gay and non-binary". Or "nonbinary lesbian" which is just getting more popular.

lunarians, solarians

Only quoting this because I stumbled across mention of these things while looking to see if someone HAD made gender-neutral spouse terms (nope, just saw women whining about being called a bride). And it seems to have been made up by a bunch of friends to replace "feminine" and "masculine" because... they were... too binary? So they've replaced it with another, different, binary allocation, because this one sounds more special.

No idea whether "system" refers to... these new rules for gender, or whether it's another fake DID thing.

So now you can get triggered because someone called you a demigirl instead of stellunarian. The transphobic bastards.
