I literally lost a friend because I couldn't bring myself to call her "they/them," especially when she admitted herself it was based around her self-hatred over her looks and hormone imbalances. I still kind of alternate between being angry at her stupidity and kind of feeling like a bigot, not like she'd forgive me anyway
that happened wtih my ex girlfriend. she tried to force me to call her a "they/them" when I tried to rekindle a friendship with her after a particularly bad separation, only to come back and find that she'd become """"nonbinary""", and I couldn't do it. At the time I was slowly starting to transition
out of my sjw phase, but it was extremely jarring to me that she did such a thing unnoticed, and because I knew her as a woman, I wasn't going to call her anything but. She was, and always would be, a girl to me.
She changed her gender because of pressure and the toxicity of the tumblrina community as well as her own confusion over her sexual orientation (to this day, I don't know
entirely whether she's bi or lesbian... but definitely one of the two, and she seemed to struggle with accepting it.), but again, it's not an actual "gender dysphoria" problem, it's her other mental illnesses that she admitted to having, and it's her own inferiority.
People need to stop conflating basic or complex insecurities that've nothing to do with gender dysphoria as meaning that "one is trans". 99% of the time it's just a hormonal, mentally miffed female who doesn't like female things. i'm sick of it. These are all different goddamn thing. If you think you have a genuine mental illness, go to a doctor, don't self diagnose as transgender for snowflake points. It invalidates actual trans people to continually use transgender as a label for your fake lil third gender.
There seriously needs to be a reformation with the whole fake LGBTQWERTY long as a shopping list acronym, let alone the fact that virtually none of these "new" orientations are valid, and many of them, in terms of shit like "demisexual", are preferences, not sexualities themselves. This clinging to labels seriously needs to fuckin' stop. Real lgbt people who don't passively sit back and accept this madness should come forward to tell off the tumblr jargon for what it is..... trashy bullshit. Your gender and sexuality ain't a choice, kiddos.
This is probably the most irksome aspect of SJWs to me, their usage of the LGBT identity and mental illnesses as accessories and trinkets, who undermine the struggles and the past progression that original activists put forth years ago, in order to give us better, more equalized lives.... do they want to revert to the days where there was insistence that lgbt identity or mental illness were choices.... where we'd be shoved in
insane asylums? It seems as such, that's what they want in the name of their precious tokenism.
With no common center and no compromise from either side, be it social justice warrior or alt rightist, the embodiment of insanity consumes the world, and if you try and take a centrist or fair position, say you don't believe that something is real, or valid, you immediately are shoved into a pit of snakes. In general, if the populous continually becomes polarized on even a sociopolitical level, it may unravel the fabric of all our predecessor's work. On a personal level it pisses me off.
