Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

So in short, this is just a woke version of being worried about yourself that every teenager (but especially girls) go through? God, I hope so, because in that case then they'll all grow up and realize that unless given a reason to do otherwise, they'll be just another person to the public at large. Most people, let's face it, worry about themselves the most of all.
On the downside, though, these are the same people who constantly post on social media all the time, so their self-image is distorted by the Tumblr/twitter echo chamber. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if those communities and their cliqueish attitudes were a big reason why some of these people are so anxious about their public perception even though Joe Normal across the street could really care less.
Well, I wouldn’t say this is equivocal to average teen anxieties since no matter how you slice it “I feel the need to undergo extreme body modification because being seen in public terrifies me” is not a normal reaction to regular old body image issues or social worries.

I’d more equate it to girls that develop eating disorders for similar reasons, except now because of its LGBT status being used as a shield it’s not looked into as much.

Proof being "non binary" takes zero effort - it's just a fashion statement dressed up as a political one.

It's more often than not just fancy way to say "not like the other girls". It's a fashion statement to young confused teenagers or people who want to cozy up with such young confused teenagers. It means nothing and requires nothing but still makes you feel pretty edgy and different in cool way. At best it's an unnecessary step in going against gender roles but mostly it's just about attention.

It's also a way for dudes to say they're chicks without putting in any effort to transition.

What is it with gender people and being so goddamn lazy? Just put forth effort to look like your stupid gender. The lazy result is always either very, very ugly dudes in dresses or tomboy girls just wearing big manbelts with shirts tucked in.

"Nonbinary doesn't owe you androgyny," yeah, it kinda does.

"Don't owe you androgyny," everybody knows you salty because you can't pull it off or you're just a coward.

SMH
"Nonbinary doesn't own you androgyny" and it's sibling "transmen don't own you masculinity" are both clidren of "minorities don't own you free emotinal labor". The idea that they can make demands of from you and you can't ask questions, explanations or standards, not without paying at least. I think it started from undestandable enough place, airing out frustration of explaining and justifying yourself over and over again. Unfortunately rather that sympathizing with feelings but recognizing that just part of changing people minds, they decided to go a different route. That other people are unreasonable. They have google, the internet, they can just look up why you want what you want and give it to you without bothering you. Even if you ignore that has potential for them to only finding information against your point, the double standard is just so bad. You don't have to give free emotional labor but they do. And they weren't even asking really free labor, answers and explanations for potentially doing what you want. Yes it's bit of a gamble but still normal part of working towards reward.

So basically, these people don't want to or feel they need to explain themselves when confronted about their beliefs?....The woke cult is the laziest religion out there if the average practitioner doesn't even want to evangelize.

Also I keep pointing it out but when someone asks you about why you as a straightie are muscling in on the rainbow coalition, they're usually not doing it because of "lack of education" about the topic - they probably want to ask you just what the hell you think you're doing by discrediting the movement with your bullshit.

Absolutly, I think it's less about they don't want explaning themselves and more they can't. Some is genuine frustration having rebeat themselves and a childish reaction to that but also "free emotional labor" is convient excuse why they don't need anwer uncomfortable or unconvenient questions. These people tend enjoy showing how woke and/or oppressed they are so asking about shouldn't be a big deal. Kinda similar similar to gamer girls getting some questions about games to test if they are a fake gamer girl. Like yeah not being believed doesn't feel that good but it's very easy prove your gredits and you get talk about something you enjoy so why is this that bad? It's honestly a great conversation starter and people do fake intrest into various topics so why don't you just answer questions?
