Proof being "non binary" takes zero effort - it's just a fashion statement dressed up as a political one.

So- let's unpack this one...

If you are aligning/identifying with a Binary gender, then you are effectively saying you are *not* non-binary.

The statement above allows you to say "I identify Female, and I'm Non-Binary, hear me REEEEEE"

At the risk of sounding "Binary" you can either be Non-Binary, or Not Non-Binary. You can't be both at the same time.

In my experience male tumblr Enbies troon out by three years. Female ones either are genuinely non binary (Ive seen it) or revert to female, often bisexual/lesbian or even straight. Part of me wonders why this is. Why do the male ones troon out but the female ones stay or revert?

I think because on average make and females transitioning for different reasons. Of course not everyone falls under these but can easily see quite different behavior patterns between genders.

To many, maybe even most, males transitioning is a fetishz. They get off from the idea being or becoming a woman. Dick wants what it wants plus the nice social rewards in SJW culture, but it's a big change and even trannies don't deny that transitioning has some serious draw backs. That puts some men off but with egg culture and porn it has powerful potential. So to men enbie tends to be trying water period before they need to full commit to get same kick as before.

Females otherhand transition mire for social and self image reasons. They feel really awkaward, desperately want to be more popular and sometimes have been sexually abused. That sucks and so of course they are looking a way out. All you need join to LGBTQ+ club is not be cishet, queer is in fasion and it's tots awful to a be woman so why not opt out of all that lame and join with the cool kids. You are different from the other girls and that must mean you aren't a girl. Still they don't feel like a man and there is no need to fully troon out if wishy washy enby will give you all the rewards. From there it depends how badly their life revolves around queer identity. If they have life outside they tend give that identity as they naturally grow into themselves, gain confidence and mature. If it's queer all the way from social to work life these identities tend stick if not get worse. A lot of queer or enbie girls do transitioning medically and otherwise to stand out among all their queer peers.

This is the type I see most often. I remember in community college (before I transferred to uni), there was a girl that identified as nonbinary, despite her (admittedly nice) tits constantly hanging out. And then she wondered why guys stared at her, misgendered her, and gave her attention all the time.

here's someone I used to be friends with. We stopped talking in early 2018, maybe sooner (but feb 2018 is the last record I have of talking to her). A while ago, out of sheer boredom, I decided to see what she was up to and had even considered getting in touch with her again.
Buuuut apparently, sometime in late 2017-early 2018, she decided she was a trans male. Not only that, but apparently at some point she also decided she was a system host. It saddened me a bit to say the least, but in retrospect it's probably a good thing we stopped talking. Hell, I'd be willing to bet that the reason she stopped talking to me in the first place may have had something to do with the fact that, at the time, I was relatively outspoken in my position on gender instead of using even a little common sense and keeping that stuff completely separate from my online social activity.
