I don't think you got my point at all. I'm not talking about small talk, I'm talking about dudes who straight up rage like an autistic shit fit, even get into physical fights over it if it's their kids. It's not common or even looked upon well but it's something that gets played off as normal, expected, in contrast to, say, "sergals or the culture war."

I may have missed your point because your original post said nothing about autistic shit fits or physical fights. You said "their favorite team winning is cause for celebration and their favorite team losing is an excuse to be angry/sad/lash out." That put me in mind of my normie relatives, who will briefly cheer if their team wins or swear up a storm and order some extra beers if their team loses.

There are options between the extremes of some autist rambling at you about Bionicle and mind-numbingly mundane sports talk. In my experience, most normalfags can be coaxed into talking about a wide range of mildly interesting topics like food, history, geography, the law, current events, hobbies, movies, video games, family, religion, local news, etc. I find normalfags are more willing to talk about things that may interest both parties, whereas spergs are more likely to be selfish assholes who only want to talk about the things that interest them, whether that's video games, sergals, trannies, or whatever. That's great if you're into the same thing as the other sperg, but it's hell if you're not.

No, I didn’t mean cheering or booing like normal but more extreme reactions, like dads getting into fights at their kids games or being surly at work because their team lost. My own father, for example, watches football and he’ll swear at the TV when a player fucks up in some stupid way, but that’s about the extent of which I’ve seen him get worked up. I know what you’re talking about with spergs of that sort, a specific type who overtalks and is selective with what they engage with. Some confusion may come from what a person may mean by sperg, because it’s often used in reference to people with bad social skills like that and to people with unconventional interests, though the two don’t have to overlap. I’d agree normalfags* are generally more polite and better conversationalists ar small talk. Where I and I think a lot of others find them disappointing is that they often seem to have a much narrower range of interests in the first place. So they’re polite in not imposing their own interests on others (usually) but are frustratingly dull. Maybe they’re not normalfags at all but most of the normalfags I work with, I don’t feel like I can even talk about most of the things you listed with them. It’s always just the blandest shit. I went to this outdoors thing, getting drunk in the woods and swimming, the other day and there were a lot of spergs there - they were throwing around the word “based” constantly like speds - but it was great because there was a huge variety to talk about, including all that stuff on your list.

Maybe the normalfags I work with are just especially shitty, it sure feels that way because social interaction in general feels a lot worse than it used to. it doesn’t seem like they even do anything besides watch ball, go to the bar, and bitch about each other.

Normalfaggot itself is a meaningless word that says more about how a person feels about their place in the world rather than any objective definition.

Good point.

Soccer fans are, and remain, the most violent of all fandoms by a mile, to the point where they started a WAR. Say what you like about Bronies, K-Pop, anime weebs, Steven Universe, ect...but none of them have actually picked up arms and straight up invaded over it.

Hate them because they're fat and not great people. I like people who aren't drawn to whatever trend or value that is on the news.
