Not getting deep into it because I'm trying to sperg less on lolcow threads but we're not talking about Babylon and Sumer here. In this case we're talking about people's grandparents. The last Canadian residential school closed in 1996. We're all living through the history you're talking about. This isn't criticism of you personally though, pretty much everybody acts like it's ancient history.

Don't care about Canada and my Great Grandparents were from Cavan County Ireland which borders what is now and has been since 1921 Northern Ireland and didn't want to live in a potential war zone and left for America and never looked back. They were proud of their heritage and where they had come from but took the L and made a life somewhere else. End of my sperging on the issue.
